Short Shifters

    why would a short shifter void your warranty. If your power steering pump goes bad a short shifter has nothing to do with it. your clutch is a wear and tear item so is not covered under warranty. the only thing is transmission but they have to prove it was the short shifter.

    I am not sure how it works.
    But I have been told that some dealerships will void warrenties on cars that have been modded in any way!

    And on the warranty thing...short shifter can not void a warranty. Look up the Magnusson Moss act. Its a law that basically says that any modification that improves the performance of a vehicle..unless the part is responsible for the damage..can't void a factory warranty or be the reason for the refusal of warranty work.

    So I got the short shifter and installed it.
    I think its a great investment. I reduced the distance by 40%... which makes it that much more fun to drive.
    It was easy to install.
    Forgot to take pictures but I will post some once I get them taken.
    I also replaced my bass bushings and soon to replace my shifter bushings!

    Yea... I didnt like the stock one.
    With the short it takes a little getting the hang of. Like this morning I raced a acura on my way to work ... and i misssed second gear.
    Made me so mad because i would have had them until that happend.
    With missing second they still just barly beat me!

    that is close to the one I have... and that one comes with some bushings.
    nice... I would get it and try it out. If not good enough for you... well it is only 35 bucks.
    but it looks like it should fit fine.

    do evos, lancers, and eclipse have the same shifters? ive seen them advertized together and am curious if its true
