The evo and the RA will both use the 4B11 so when either of them upgrade we will be able to get cheap genuine turbo's. Also all engine internals will apply to all the cars so forged parts here we come. This is one reason i was praying that we would get the same engine and not the 2.4 because of better aftermarket support. Will be able to get some cheap JDM parts for your standard lancer too when people start crashing their RA's. I'll be sticking with mine and going the turbo option.. AWD isnt all its cracked up to be .. i know of a number of people with evo's who converted them to FWD just because torque steer is where its at and the FWD category is more fun/easier to compete in. Cant do burnouts in AWD's either if thats your thing. Plus if you like doing circuit work then you wont go through tyres as fast with a FWD as you will the AWD and as a daily driver an AWD uses more petrol because of the weight of the drivetrain. While i wouldnt mind either the RA or the evo im not over FWD cars yet so im more than happy to keep my VRX and turn it into a little rocket, especially when you should in theory be able to make as much power as an evo will since once you get to the stage of putting in forged internals you wont be able to tell the difference between the engines. I love you mitsubishi
MUHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! I knew waiting would pay off! GUESS WHAT YALL!?!?! I called and talked with Mitsu North America, and the lady I always talk to stated that because of the big sales of the 08 Lancer, Mitsu green lighted the Ralliart. Furthermore, while she can not confirm or deny what the final drive train will be, she stated that this morning she received an email from her boss with some preliminaries about the Ralliart and what the had tested with it and several of the documentation was stating that the Ralliart may use a carry over of the Evo IX AWD system to save on overhead since they have already been easily producing it. Just a few more months and I'll be telling the honduhs "See ya!" Bill
Right well as soon as anyone comes up with a date of release I'm going to buy this. I made up my mind and would much rather have this than my car since I will never be able to create an AWD version of mine.
Off topic but nice avatar there midunn back on topic... Hopefully it will be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show that starts today or tomorrow (can't remember). I am gonna be checking Edmunds.com everyday till they give me the final numbers. So F*N excited I can't see straight. Bill
I am really excited about this, the only drawback I had on the lancer is the fact that it will never be awd, and Bam! here we go. My happy medium between the GTS and the X and it's perdy to boot~
im definatly trading mine in for the charcoal grey i wanna see it on that ra i love the way mine looks now imagine the ra i cant wait imma go to the dealer since a friend of mine works there and see if he knows nething about this get the inside scoop
Your right, this thread is like a modified Mastercard commercial... 2008 Lancer . . . $XX,XXX Mods such as air intake, pulley, etc. to make it better . . . $X,XXX Finding out that you've decided "F*** it, I'm gonna trade it for the better RA" . . . Priceless There are Lancers out there for the common daily driver, for the every one else who is a speed loving demon, theres the RA. Bill
why not get an EVO like this guy on the 57 south going to the 91 west (LMAO)....... or like this grey one that was on the 57 south in front of me back in like August (LMAO).....
i think it might have been the same guy and if it was, i talked to him and he has "distributor plates" so he has to work for mitsubishi (not the dealership)
Well, this is good news indeed! You guys just may see me start posting more, since I'll have to be doing research on my new car to be
