ok so theres a guy on evolutionm that asked if you could stroke these motors and everyone told him no that it was already at or close to max stroke and boring wouldnt be a great idea due to the already thin cylinder walls but slightly bigger could be done.
one guy brought up the point of sleeving the walls to bore which could work.

another guy is selling a 2003 evo 8 that has been stroked to a 2.3 by using the shorter 4g64 crank spo that it is short stroked instead of long. hes pushing 400whp w/25 pounds of boost.

now this seems to me like a good idea because i want to turbo later later on, but for now i think ill do the short stroke and slight bore, port and polish the head tb and intake and do a hi flow cat system and cai, from there its suspension work

To tell you the truth I would try to find a 4g64 which is a 2.4l its pretty much drop right in with some new motor mounts and there's alot more aftermarket parts available for that motor and the 4g63 head bolts to that block which drops it down to a 2.3l so all in all you end up with pretty much end up with a 2.0 4g63 stroked to a 2.3l

its still gonna be a 2.4l. You would have to stroke the evo head to 2.4 liters. Not unless you destroke the galant bottom down to a 2.0 liter. Its practical and has been done. but we are looking to keep the 4g94 engine and max it out to its greatest capabilities.
