That sucks, I was actually going to buy this kit. You're one of the first ones that had this kit right? Looking at your pics on the front page the front bumper does look a little "Ebay'ish" lol...appreciate the heads up. Body kits are a nightmare as it is...messing with poor quality is insult to injury.
yeah my shop put the bumper on like normal and it was not stable at all, so they made custom brackets to keep the bumper stiff. there design sucks too. like wth are the extra holes on the side of the bumper for??? they going for the c-west look but dont put the c-west intake scoop
Nemo, you always complain about the AIT products but its not the quality of the kits are that bad, it's the service from AIT Racing that sucks. I just want to clear the name on this kit a little bit and let everyone know that the quality really is not that bad. Fiberglass kits are not the best thing to work (From an installation and prep work standpoint only) but unfortunately they are the standard for aftermarket body kits because of the low cost for design and manufacturing. There is nothing wrong with fiberglass body kits, the thing is that people have an idea that when they purchase a body kit that it comes in the mail and they can install it the same day and drive away. This is NEVER the case... you have to do your homework a little bit and realize that to install a fiberglass kit you need an EXPERIENCED shop that knows what they are doing. Fiberglass kits have a bad rep mainly because of uninformed consumers. There's nothing wrong with having a fiberglass kit, shops will just say they don't like them cause it takes a little more prep work to install then working with oem parts. (This is why you need to find a shop that is known for custom work and experienced in body kit installs) Nemo, even with our EvoX kit that you purchased a while back... that took some work too remember? It's just the nature of the product. You can probably admit that the reason you bash on AIT so much is because of the service over there right? The reason i say this is because we've been getting customers calling us on this lately mentioning they heard the quality of AIT parts are poor and it's not necessarily the case.
You said you couldn't get the fog lights in but I talked to a guy at carbodykitshop.com and he said it was posssible you just have to work it out. He said it's possible to get them on just with zip ties? I just bought the front bumper and its on the way so im gonna be pretty ticked if the fog lights dont fit. Did you do it yourself or have a bodyshop install it?
