Talk to Brian from RRM, I think he would agree.. again im only speculating.. I'm not 100%, but it makes sence. Brian, do you agree?
I do have one question though, more directed to RRM if they have tested it or not. How much boost should we expect with this kit, because that would be nice to know
Bras, think about it. the CVT is 1 gear. the transmission doesnt shift, once this car reaches around 3,500 RPM its gonna be at max boost all the time, if you put the CVT in "D" put the pedal to the floor the RPM's redline and you keep going, the transmission doesnt shift so therefore they dont go down, that turbo is gonna spool up and keep spooling. with a manual when you shift your RPMS go back down, this will cause boost lag and seconds lost. i don't own a CVT so tell me. what happens to the tachometer when a "shift" is made in CVT? The needle doesn't go down in the RPM range?
with the CVT even in tiptronic when you think your shifting your really not, it doesnt have 2 trannys lol.. you cant shift 1 day and cruise in 1 gear another.. but yea the needle does go down when you shift in tiptronic.
Good stuff that CVT is what gives our lancers such a starting power. I have a friend of mine with an STI and he test drove my new ES yesterday, he said the same thing about it having a real good take off, imagine with a turbo !
you just explained the same concept. how can the CVT NOT lose power/momentum/boost if it has to take a "moment" to find a new RPM-point like us 5 speed'ers?
when its in "D" the rmps go to redline and stay there.. in tiptronic it shifts. The needle only goes down when we use tiptronic.. when the car is in D the RPMS never go down unless we take our foot off the gas.
