yea getting it tuned is key factor after putting all these upgrades on. esp the turbo. im not sure but last time i talked to brian he said it might be around 5k but we'll see
I have a question. Would I call my car CVT or what? The problem is that I do not have the shifters on the side or the up and dwon shifters on the shift itself. I just have the basic automatic.
damn....5k..that is alittle much. i already have 3k saved aside. I'm a newbie wen it comes to F/I. lets say I go the f/i way. What mods can u do after that? lets say the kit does break off another 80 whp...so that will bring us around 230.
Do you guys know what the baseline number are? If you want to upgrade that kit you can do everything from upgrading the turbo, FMIC, injectors, fuel pump, etc. You could also upgrade the internals if that is avaiable.
^^once the kit is on, you might consider doing the internals. Like cams, lower compression pistons and the likes. More power is like a chain reaction, once you get the power you want than you have to get some better reinforcements like engine mounts, a better clutch plate, bigger brakes and things like that. You can always go bigger turbo (like from a chevy duramax turbo diesel) bigger core fmic, better flowing injectors and fuel pump...and the list goes on and on and...
turbo if its going to be about 5k for the kit your better off waiting for the ralliart version or better yet the evo if and when they are released it seems to be more cost effect at this point
ya if u can afford the insurance on an Evo :x. I say if u want a "cheap" turbo wait until some jackasses wreck an Evo or raliart and get the parts out of the car at the junkyard, hopefully the injectors and such would be a direct swap(without the need of possibly resistors or whatever, but u never know
Re: turbo If it is gonna be around $5k it had better come with everything, all the guages(good name brand), good size injectors, intercooler, piping, lines, fuel managment(at least an Emanage) and whatever else I cant think of now, especially if its only a 16g turbo or something, I could see a good trim t3/t4(maybe little too big for this engine) If it does indeed cost that much, hopefully when more competitors step up to the turbo game we will see some good prices, like what honduhs get on turbo kits(most of the time)
