Salvage 06 Lancer ES Build Thread

I hate some state cops. The cop wouldnt even look at my car because i left the hood black. This is bullshit. I went in two weeks ago with pictures of my car when the bumper, fender were still black and the woman officer said it was fine and i didnt have to pain the bumper or fender. Now this asshole is saying the other officer is wrong. He was being such a dick even when we first went. This is just bs. At the end he was like you should have gone and bought a $500 honda. Like seriously? That cop can go fuck himself.

I'm get my AC condenser isntalled today then bring it tomorrow or wed. im trying figure out what day the woman officer is there because she is a lot nicer. not a fuckin asshole. AND $150 wasted on towing. some people.

 

I'll be seeing him on Friday. Taking his name down and going report him. Just another delay. According to him, he said the car has to be in the condition it was when it bought new. Thats just impossible. I just read this on the salvage form.

to its operating condition which existed prior to the event

Goin to report this guy as soon as my car passed. I don't wanna argue with him and then he tells th eother officer not to pass me or something. I just dropped the car off at the paint guy. Looking at $150 for paint job, and hes going take out like 3 dents in the hood. Pick it up tomorrow and bring it to another and get my new AC Condenser installed. Soo looking at Wed as next time I go in. If the car isnt ready goign next tuesday because thats when the woman officer is there.

 

Sorry for double post but I got the hood painted. It was real fast and I got a killer deal on it. This is the same guy who painted my bumper and fender. He does a good job so if you want his name/address hit me up. I dropped the car off at another garage to replace the AC condenser. Soo hes goign call me at 5 to tell em if you goign be finsihed tonight or not. Hoping we going for the inspection for tomorrow.

Next upgrade will be exhaust. Its a N1 exhaust of ebay. Just lookign for a deep sound, not excessively loud or annoying. Its $174.95 + shipping. Seems alright. Gotta get ramps or jackstands so i can udner the car.

Then I'm thinkin White 17 in Rota Grids. Anybody know why type of offset/ other fitment issues I should be looking for? I'm still trying decide between 17 or 16s.

 

Agreed 110% on the black hood. Look wayy better. He painted it for $150. So if I wanna get it repainted black he said he would do it. But I wanna know if he can paint it matte black. That would look better IMO.

I'll deff og with 16s, they are cheaper too whcih helps hah. Now I gotta figure what offset is good on my car.

I looked up youtube videos of the N1 exhaust and it gives off a really good sound.

 

IT PASSED! I got plates and my registration. Loving my Lancer. I can rest easy now. Both the man and woman officer was there. We waiting about 45 mins for it to be inspected. The man was a lot more nicer today...but he didnt inspect my car. The woman did. She seemed very apologetic about the hood issue. She didnt give us any issues at all. So I'm happy. This nightmare is over. Salvage cars are worth it if your a dealer, got a really good deal on the car, or have connections. The dealers spent 15 mins and then they were out. I will post new pictures when i install my Sparco transparent white mudflaps. Go Mitsubishi!

 

For suree. I'm in the process of attaching my sparco mudflaps. These are just for looks. Not going do any rallying anytime soon haha. I wanna see how this hold up in the winter. I snowboard alot int he winter so I need mudflaps and a roof rack to hold my snowboard. I have around $150 towards that exhaust. Two more weeks til I buy it hopefully.

And I realize are are fitment issues wit the rear bumper. its prolly cuz of the extra weight from te wing or maybe it had a rear accidnet. i dont know and i know the left rear mudflap is VERY slight crooked but oh well!

 

Im think about taking the mudflaps off. they dont look as good as i imagine it to be. EDIT: I have 4 lug wheels but they are steelies. i have hubcaps over then. the hubcaps have fake lug nuts haha. fooled you didnt ya.

 

I'm painting the mudflaps as we speak. I feel like Kryon Fusion would have been the best paint to use but oh well. Anyone know how to take the grille out? im trying o black out my grille
