Hey man.. just to let you know, my last car was a 2001 Hyundai Elantra and that is one car I Never regretted buying. The car was solid and ran like a champ, it is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned to date (not including the lancer, cuase I havent owned it long enough).

Funny thing is, there was nothing really wrong with my Elantra, I just wanted a new car that looked better and had a sportier drive to it. The lancer ,by far, is better handling... but to tell the truth, the Elantra was just as fast, if not faster, then the 08 Lancer I have now.

I wouldnt hestitate at all to reccomend a Hyundai to anyone, they are really a nice car now, not like in the old days.

    Re: 09 lancer review

If you look again, you will notice that the 7.5 sec time they wrote down has "(est.)" after it meaning that it is estimated. This can and usually means that they didn't purposely put it through a quarter mile track with sensors and timers to get a true average time over several trials.

Anyone know what it would take to get enough performance out of a 2 litre GTS to match a 2.4 litre GTS? Surely it shouldn't require anything more than light mods, especially considering that the 2.4 is a heavier engine and only produces an extra 16HP and 20 lb/ft at the flywheel.

when is the projected release date for the '09s? cuz i'm planning on getting a lancer soon, probably after the summer... and trying to figure out if i should wait for the '09... other thing is... how much more would the '09 GTS be since it has a newer engine?

    nvm i just found it....

    '08
    Lancer GTS 4-Door DOHC MIVEC (2.0L/5M) $17,490.00 5-Speed Manual

    '09
    Lancer GTS 2.4L 4-Door DOHC MIVEC (2.4L/5M) $17,990.00 5-Speed Manual

it's only gonna be $500 more... i might as well wait for the '09 to come out and get a better engine... now i just have to find out "WHEN" it's coming out :-\

    check GTS, 4B12... 2.4L 168@6000 =)... i wonder if anyone knows the power:weight ratio between the 4B12 and 4B11...

be mindful that the 4b12 may not have transferable parts from the Evo X. One benefit from our Lancers to the Evo X is they are running the same engine...just without a turbo and some other stuff.
