Wow.. lmao. I'd be afraid they'd close while I'm getting out and break me or the door lol. I can't believe somebody actually spent the money to get those
we got some young guy here in ottawa with a yellow Neon with every stick on hood scoop and fake air vent from wal-mart. It makes that dudes lancer look good. but our doors are so heavy id be afraid they will fall off. ALso to close the door once he is in the car he probly has to pull down on the plastic compartment everytime, that will eventualy break some clips
Here's none other than, an Evo X with lambo-doors... I think there is something wrong with the drivers side one, he doesn't open it for any of the pics. With all the pics looking like that, It reminds of a bird with a broken wing.
the best doors ever made are the Reneault Avantime, its some kind of minivan sold overseas, I seen on Top Gear a few years ago.If every car had those doors there would be alot less door dings in the world. When the door opens there a second hinge that allows the door to fold and slide forward a bit the best i could find of the door is here http://www.autosvit.com.ua/gallery/imag ... time_1.jpg http://oldievan.de/assets/images/CD_Ava ... 6__40_.jpg http://www.auto-pub.net/Dessins/Avantim ... portes.jpg
Sorry to revive a really, reall, really old thread. However I've got vertical doors on the car and I need new shocks, anyone know off hand what the weight rating is for shocks? I don't recall off the top of my head.
All of the kits that I have installed have had something like 200-250lb shocks....but thats for Eclipse, camaro, F150, and other 2-door cars....
Thanks. Personally it's a cool mod, a little overplayed, but I like it. The only thing is I had no idea what size and weight shocks to use. I think I'll tear off the fender tonight and just see whats up. I got 2 shocks on each side, so I figured maybe 150lbs each so 300 lbs total? I'm not sure. But I looked it over, and it looks pretty straight forward. I'll end up replacing all 4 shocks. Maybe if there's some identification on the shock itself as to the weight, maybe I can buy just one shock thats the proper weight and be done with it. It'd be cheaper for me in the long run, otherwise I'm pissing away $50-$60/side per pair..
I saw a guy at the carlisle show with some really weird rear doors. Then I realized he simply took out one of the bolts holding the rear hinges in place and the damn thing dangled there. It was probably the most useless mod I've seen. I don't think you can call it a mod. A modification is doing something useful to the car. The only thing he did was reduce weight...about 10 grams worth of weight.
