Hey guys im so sorry for the delay family troubles, arnt easy. but anywho DO NOT PULL THE FUSE I DID. I noticed that my brake lights went out also! i had checked them at night and it was fine but my brake lights are out, i put the fuse back in and it seems to be ok. Im sorry for all the confusion. for all the trouble i caused i went to a good car shop i know of and tried to see if they could help. he had done HID kit on a lancer already and he had to do a relay kit to the fog lights. NOT what we want. sorry guys im still trying i sent an email to a guy i know at mitsubishi but he hasnt replied yet.

    ^ Hope all is well.

I did, what was said in the first post of this topic. I have an ES and there is a 10 fuse and the very last section of the row. #13 (I even counted to make sure). I removed it and disconnected the negative terminal of the battery. It worked. After driving about 2-3 minutes the drl went on, WTF!! I am guessing there is more to it then removing the fuse. I will check out the set up in kinkbmxrydr 08. We usually meet on Mondays, hopefully he will be there

LancerGTS retracting his original DIY....Ways to disable them if you spend money....Wiring your DRLs to your foglights....

God I love car forums. Have any of you considered this:

    JUST FORGET ABOUT HIDs!

I know its a foreign concept to some of you, but whats the big deal?

    1. If you want to light up the road more, wire in a second set of fog lights, itll do a much better job plus it will take a lot less time/money.

    2. If you want the look of HIDs...just go buy some crappy blue bulbs. Just "getting the look" is a retarded way of saying "cutting corners to make my car seem better." Seriously, if I ever saw someone roll up in a car with HIDs, and then that person told me they had to give up other things with their car to get them to work, I would laugh my ass off at them. While you are doing the great job of fucking your car up for HIDs, go buy a whistle to stick in your exhaust so you can sound like your car is turbo'd.

If RRM is creating an HID kit that DOESNT require any bullshit to fuck your car up, their HID kit will be well worth an extra $150 compared to a kit that uses shortcuts. Take a second to really think about it.

 Yeah I always am. I know I sound like a dick, but what Im saying is true. A lot of people just dont like to hear it, but the point of a forum is to get all viewpoints of an issue. When Jake first invited me to this forum I told him from the start that most people dont like what I have to say on the EvoM forums because I dont follow everyone elses word because "they feel it". Ive had my time with one of my last cars where I just bought a lot of the wrong parts and did some stupid shit to my car, and now with my knowledge I am throwing my opinion out there to help people think before they do something to a brand new car. If you dont like my posts, thats cool man, I understand. The best thing to do would be to just ignore them if thats the case.

RRM isn't making anything different for the extra 150.00 or what ever they are just including instructions on how to disable them which if they can figure it out so can we. And buying the bulbs that are blue of course are a lot cheaper i also sell them but eventually they will dim out and not be as bright and you will buy another set instead of a 1 time 190.00 for HIDs

    ***UPDATE ON DISABLING DRLs***

Apparently, the fuse trick, as many have found out, does not work. Here is the reason. The gentlemen I am now regularly contacting at Mitsu North America (MNA) stated that he believed where the fuse is there to protect from over surge and is designed to blow to prevent damage to electrical equipment (short definition of an electrical fuse...), the car's electrical system has a backup relay supposedly dug deeper in the cars system (he couldn't explain where because of company SOP and the fact that he does not have access to the main diagrams of the wiring system). This explains why when you pull the fuse, it only works for a short time. The car "senses" that the fuse is blown/gone and compensates. Now, why it does this after a few minutes or so and not instantly I don't know. My guess would be that the ECU runs a systems of tests/self diagnostics before returning power, but through a complete circuit without a fuse. That way, the "safety" of the car is not compromised and, therefore, making Mitsu liable for some idiot to sue them for something stupid.

Personally to me, the kit is sounding more and more like a hassle than a value... If we want a complete diagram, I say one person be the guinea pig to buy from RRM and maybe have others pitch in a couple bucks toward the $150 difference. That way, once the diagram reveals what is needed, AutoMoGlow can begin to disperse his cheaper kit in mass. This way, yes, you will be paying a bit more in the long run ($10 to $20 toward the different for the guinea pig then the price of AutoMoGlow's kit), but it will still be less in the long run then everyone buying the RRM kit, save for those who wish too, especially if AutoMoGlow is offering a batch pricing on the HID kits.

Its your best bet at the moment, you might want to wait for the RRM kit to come out if youd be willing to pay for it. If you arent, then yeah blue bulbs will get the job done for what its worth.
