Best CVT shift points

k back ta subject.
i know at 4000 we reach our best torque level and at 6 we hit 152, so do u think if we did 1st and 2nd gear at four then 3rd and up at 6 it would go faster or would it slow us down????

 

well in my opinion based on my driving alone high speeds yes I shift at 6000 although I have red lined on occasion! let me tell ya she sounds awsome at high rpm's!!!! its the mivech that kicks in to give all horses just like hondata with vtech. when im at like 70 mph and need to kick it up a notch and im in auto she will fly..no lagging..but standard city driving i shift at 4000.

 

looking back at the timeslips i got my best reaction time of the day, so i bet they are the same or very close

 

i shift at 6000

 

only if your left foot is asleep lol
i can shift gears faster than u can paddle shift
ur trans still has lag and mine is immediate
not with the new trans in the Evo MR you would obviously be able to beat a stick but your car is not the new SST

How the hell do you shift faster than the paddle shifter, you must not have ever seen a CVT shift before bcuz that's a dumb thing to say. Yes you are still faster than the CVT if you shift correctly, but don't be retarded and say you shift faster than the paddles. Not even with a short shifter will you be able to shift quicker.

and i have a 08 5 spd and have driven the 09 five speed
yea u can just paddle shift but its not instantaneous
and it wont be on our transmissions
you ca tell me it is but it is for sure not sorry

Here's how to end this

CVT shift = Instant (what hydro is talkin about)
CVT power transfer to wheels = eh........

5 speed shift - Not so instant
5 speed power transfer- much more noticable

Just when i picked up an intake, piggy, headers, exhaust, and pulley....my girl went and got an AEM Cold-Air and Greddy Evo2 Catback exhaust.

I won't be catching her anytime soon...... hah
