So, I've had my new headlights in for about a week now, (delivered, not installed) and got the new hid bulbs today. Did one of them, and can see how it would be pretty much impossible to change the bulbs out with the headlights installed. Glad I waited, thanks Jog. So, expect some pictures of the new headlights soon. Possibly tomorrow I could install them, but I'll probably just wait till Saturday to do it, and have all day.
Also, your gonna want to keep those rubber covers on. Otherwise water will get in them. I cut mine and put some electric tape around it to prevent any water from entering. Sent from my DROID2 using Tapatalk
Ok, thanks. I was thinking about that when I was changing the bulbs. I guess I'll cut a slot for the wire to slide down into it, then do as you said and tape it up. A lot.
Got them installed. Aren't as purple as I was hoping, more on the blue side, but I'll have to wait and see them tonight.
So, I got them installed and everything and noticed tonight that both of my low beam lights kind of flicker a bit. Not that much, but just enough for me to notice and bother me. Anybody have any ideas as to why? First attempt at fixing it will be to go back and check all the connections for the low beams, but I'm pretty sure everything is relatively tight. Is this normal for aftermarket hids in a projector housing?
mine dont flicker. I have my driver side at 55w and passenger at 35 w. Same bulbs different ballast. It was 35w for both but it wasnt bright enough for me. but either way I dont and didnt have any flicker. You got some daytime running lights on your lancer sir? You need to call up jrox. LOL but truthfully, one or both of your ballast may be bad or you have a bad connection. ALSO, THIS BELOW
Check the connections. It may seem tight, but I had to put a zip-tie around the harnesses to hold them tight enough. It seemed like the harness on the HID side was just a little too tall to make a good connection (if that makes sense). I took some sandpaper and shaved off about 1/4 inch off the end and it has had a good connection ever since.
haha...zip ties. the number one cure for cars needs. I just removed the piece from my cars harness and did what i did above. I havent had any issues with water or electricity.
I'll check them soon. Like I said, it's not that bad, but I can notice it a little bit when I'm driving straight for a while and that's the only thing I'm looking at, or I'm sitting at a red light or something.
Finally got pictures/proof of my headlights installed. Lol. Some fitment issues, but nothing that horrible. Tried to get one of the lights while driving, and it didn't really work out that well, so I'll have to get one when I'm parked. I like them though. They start off purple when I first turn them on, then go to white, then blue, then stay between white and blue. Next is an Evo grill though. Tired of that stupid looking stock grill. Anyone know how to take the stock one off?
the stock on just has a couple screws, then you pulll like hell to on pop those stupid plastic clips, if you get the evo grill paint there is a part of your hood thatll need to be painted i think, look at my progress to see what im tqalking about, also, try painting your grill black, itll look way better and itll just cost a can off spray paint my lights are the same color! haah
So, my dad and I worked on my wreck-ness Saturday. Kind of got the body semi-straight and a new tail light in. Here's pictures of the wreck and "new". Oh, and if anyone needs the harness for a tail light, I have one. Driver side tail light. Just let me know.
A new bumper and rear quarter panel. Nice. Shoulda got them evo replica tails. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
No new bumper or quarter. Lol. Just pushed all the dents out as much as we could. Doesn't look too bad, but there's still scratches and everything.
