Ok I will be updating this post in the near future (also located on EvoM) once I get the springs on the car. This first section is the testing I did today with the car stock, so that there will be comparisons for once I get the springs on. Part 1 - Stock: Car: 08 Lancer GTS 5 Speed Manual with 87 Octane no modifications (not even a sticker ) Location: A windy road 4 miles outside of Taft, CA. Daytime, 92 degrees, no wind. Setup: A small stretch of road with a snake turn, a 90 degree turn, a straight and a long 45 degree turn. Timing was done using universal time. I used my bluetoothed phone in the car and dialed 303-499-7111 (try calling the number. All it is is a tick, tick, tick noise of seconds with someone saying "at the time it will be bla bla minutes universal standard time), which plays the universal time. At the finish I had an electronic trip wire also set to universal time that would record what time I crossed. In my car, I would wait for the count down to a minute and take off, and crossing the trip wire I would have my time for the run. I also noted my speeds on corners. Best run (Four runs were done, each time a bit faster on each portion of the track): Course: 1:22 seconds - this is me actually rounding up as the clocks use tenths and I just dont want to deal with that crap here  Snake turn (no recommended speed) - 40 MPH full control / 45 MPH slight rear tire slide. 90 degree turn (Recommended 20 MPH) - 45 MPH full control / 50 MPH slight rear tire slide. Long 45 degree turn (no recommended speed) - 85 MPH full control / No speed recorded for tire slide. So, there are my stock numbers. Once I get the springs on I will be going back to the same spot and testing the car in the exact same spots with the springs on to give a before and after test. And now...pictures of stock test! Pictures include my ride height, portions of the track, starting positiong (even with large sign), finishing line (spray painted onto the road), and the finish line trip wire setup:
I am still trying to find a shop. The ones I have talked to so far are charging way too much for a set of springs. Here is a pic to prove I have them though
I meant stock tires with the new springs, my bad[/quote:2gdx24dr] Well, next week I am buying my wheels...so it all depends on if I find a shop that isnt charging rediculous amounts for springs.
nice nice. i bet you cant wait. lol.. i wana pick these up, but i hear things from other people saying that lowering springs mess up stock struts.
Maybe on a car with horrid shocks. You have a GTS right? Our car already comes with a good suspension setup and it can definately handle a small 1.1 in drop that the WORKs springs do.
