When you guys go to the dealers....

^^^ i wanna know too.. i have the Oil and filter change tomorrow.. but dont really wanna remove the CAI.. but if i have to i will.

I'll take my car to one dealership for service/oil changes/etc etc. You have to understand that they're not "looking" for shit gone bad. The mechanics are just doing what needs to be done and on to the next car. They don't care for your mods.

Now.. I'm driving along and my check engine light comes on?

I take my car to another dealership in another part of the city. However, I remove my aftermarket mods. now that something has gone wrong with the car, They'll want to know why. I've heard of some horror stories in regards to warranty work being voided from stupid shit like an exhaust being installed.


So... No aftermarket parts? No problem!

Just need to play the system a bit. Works out to your advantage.


Oh and HIDs? HIDs wont cause a problem (that I know of) with your car. If your transmission goes out because your HIDs are too bright or something like that. Then all i have to say is, "wow".

 

Ok if your going to just do a maintenance check then the answer is NO you dont have to revert your car to stock. BUT if there is a problem with the car Engine, etc....Then YES you must revert it back to stock because if they see that your car has a problem then they would void the warranty just because you have a few bolt on's. Saves money for them when they can blame it on you! Just my 2 cents!

 

I havent taken any of my aftermarket parts off when I go to the dealership, especially since I only have a cai and strut bar in the engine. I have had no problems with them.

 

Yeah go ahead and leave them on. I already had this discussion with my dealership. The guy there told me that anything after combustion in the engine will not void the warranty, if that helps anyone. Also i just went in for my periodic inspection and had a CAI and exhaust on and they didnt say anything to me, except he told me my exhaust sounds really good!!

lol yeah no worries cause i always take my car in and i have intake and exhaust and they seen em and havent said anything to me except that it sounds nice (i always hear them reving my engine though) but no worries unless your engine light goes on then yeah they will try to blame the parts and void your warranty
