if you have an exhaust and you motor blows im pretty sure you would be covered providing its a cat back or axel back.. they have to prove that the mod you did to your car cause the defect in the part.
Some have swapped with no sensor light, I did the same but my light went on. You may have to recalibrate from the tire shop or the dealership. There have been questions to this particular subject, so you may want to do a search before posting.
