yes. That happened to me when I had my 01 Civic. I'm not sure if there would be any other reasons for that though, but I know alignment is one cause.
yeah i had everthing else checked, my rims aren't bent, tires are brand new and not warped, and they are perfectly balanced. I took my car to the dealership just now and they are saying that the alignment won't cause that problem. I've called other shops in town and they said yes... and now mitsu is saying they aren't going to align my car under the 12,000 adjustable warranty.... they keep blaming my rims....
are your lugnuts loose?are you using the right lugnuts?i know for myself i used the wrong type of lugs for rims and my car vibrated like a b#tch!another casue is the lugnuts being a little loose.
how do you know if they are the wrong lug nuts??? i went to the store and the guy looked it up in the computer and he said there is no info on it... so i took one of them off from the stock rims and we matched it by screwing it onto the tester things they had at the store
did you get the tuner lugnuts?or you use the stock lugnuts?i know you can get anytype of lug with the same thread pattern but you can also get the wrong typ of lugnut not specific for the rim.tuner lugs is i hope what you have.and are they tightened up,
if they keep blaming it on the rims then tell them to tell you what to do. I mean what the hell are they there for?
dude i know... and i just called the other mitsu dealership... they were joined with my dealership.... they told me to get different rims... and i was all dude they are perfectly fine nothing wrong with these... and he was all idk what to tell you other then go back to stock....
im pretty sure they're not cuz i got a new set... and the tire shop said the tires are warped.. so i bought another set and it still did it and there was nothing wrong with the tires.... unless i just have really bad luck i highly doubt it.... but who knows...
i have an idea (and it seemed kinda obvious to me) put on ur stock rims.. if u still get vibrating go to the dealership and tell them to fk off, it's not the rims, now fix it
that is what im going to do next, after the alignment... and if that doesn't work stock rims are going back on... but if it doesn't stop after i do the switch mitsu is gonna have a piece of my mind lol
well i finally gave in and i put my stock rims back on and guess what.... THE F*CKING VIBRATION IS STILL THERE!!! tomorrow morning im going to the dealership and speaking with the owner... some hell is going to be raised cuz they refused to check the car... im so pissed off right now... its un real
What kind of vibration are you talking about? In the steering wheel? At what speed? I've had a similar problem after getting a new set of tires. At about 60-70 mph I get a vibration in the steering wheel. After having them balanced a couple times I got a second opinion from another mechanic who said my rotors were shot. Not a problem, I drive alot and rather aggressively so it's not uncommon. I got the rotors changed and the vibration still persists but not as bad so the rotors were a contributor but not the total problem. The next step is to get the tires replaced which I'm going to do on Saturday. It could be your rotors. Possibly a balancing issue. The tires could have a defect.
