tires

    yes i did look at the sticky. on my Galant i have 215/40/18 the recommended size for the 08' Lancer is 215/45/18 is the 215/40/18 okay altho its not on the list?

    A little short, but like bras said it can work. When those 215/40-18s wear out buy some 215/45-18s.

    it wont mess up the alignment of the car at all right?

    Balance has nothing to do with wheel alignment.

    from what i was told, it does when it starts pulling to one side.

    Balancing does not cause a pull.

    Caster and Camber are the only alignment angles that can cause a pull (which are not adjustable from the factory on std passenger cars), but 9 out of 10 times the pull you experience is based on tire related issues (I.E. Radial pull, out of round, excessive runout, tread seperation, etc...). Wheel balancing is not related to any kind of pulling experience.

    Other than a slightly off speedo I've never seen any ill effects of slightly different tire sizes.
