So I emailed TEIN about coilovers and they responded with this: "For the newest Lancer, we plan on developing both lowering springs and coilovers. Please keep posted with us for more updates, as we hope to test this vehicle within the next few months." Hopefully it is sooner then that.. I want coilovers! Lol
I got the same response from tein when I got my Lancer in April . AEM and DC Sports, I am still waiting from them. Injen is looking for a few victims, lol
i have ordered the RRM springs, from what i have seen in that video and pictures, the car handles really sweet.
Sorry to ask such a noobish question. But what do coilcovers do? I understand springs raise and lower your car but what about coil covers?
I saw the rrm lancer at mod, with the 18s they had on and the springs, it was 2 fingers around the car. where as with my 16s and no spirngs its roughly an entire fist...a lil fyi
Coilovers are a matched spring & strut combination that typically allow for all sorts of adjustments to both damping and ride height. They are typically more flexible than springs since you can choose and adjust your ride height, whereas with springs you get the one ride height that they come in and that's it. Often they also allow you to adjust ride height without compromising the car's suspension geometry, as very low springs will often do. They can also be used to corner balance your car, so that equal pressure is applied to each wheel. Their multi-adjustability is great for a racetrack, but they really are overkill for the street. If I do anything to my Lancer ES I'll just put in some lowering springs (maybe 1 inch all round).
