Hey, Does anyone know a good shop around the NJ area that can install my Tein Springs? I would do it myself but my co-worker who used to have his own shop said not to do it myself because I could kill myself when you get those cheap spring compressors (they might slip and then you'll litterly get sprung @ 100 mph). Well i guess in general where have you guys gone??
I do them myself, i have done them on so many cars that its pretty easy now, i did it to my old 2006 eclipse GT took about 2hrs or less
i leaned how to change springs in gr10 auto class, of course teacher woudnt let us use an impact gun, scary as hell lol. go with the pros
ahh i see i live in wayne use to live in clifton. both passaic county. but right now im at college in ct. lol
Not really kill you, but it might knocked you out big time. This is not what I did to mine [youtube:2joyhhyx]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEQq0_xeg6g[/youtube:2joyhhyx] But I recommend using a spring compressor. I think its 15bucks here in Cali.
Re: Spring Install ~ NJ Area UPDATE Me and blueball installed the Tien springs on his lancer today, finished in about 2.5hrs. came out perfect and ride is great no more body roll, almost completly eliminated and i was the passenger in the car lol. almost got caught by the same cop twice while testing out the car lol. Here are some before and after shots. far front before and after close up front before and after far rear before and after close up rear before and after whole car far shot after angler shot after My car on the left his car on the right. ELECTRIC BLUE FTMFW!!!
The correct way to do do what you just did is actually to place a foot on the strut and another foot on the spring, which will prevent the strut being tossed like that, shit did not look healthy for that shock.
Limited edition Electric blue haha Big Ups to NJ08lancergts for pretty much telling my oem springs whats up. i just put on the oem wheels and tires there is pretty much no gap, 1 finger in the front and none in the back. bad part is the oem wheels are making me drift left like they always have... anyone got a solution to this? cause my aftermarket rims didn't do this
Thanks BlueBalllancer, Today was fun, i had a great time, and i felt like you learned something today which is always good. I thought it was hilarious how the same cop kept coming up everytime we tried pushign the springs to their limits lol. Like i said bro if you get anything else you need help on let me know man, im down
