i was thinking about getting some springs clamps to put on my tein springs that i have now.should lower my car another 1/2 inch, but its prolly be a stiff ride, lol
Why not just buy new spings that offer a lower stance? I don't know too much about "spring clamps" but I'm guessing that if the spings did not come with it, you'd be better off w/o them...
i do have new springs that give a much low stance.2"F n R,obviously they dont come with spring clamps, its just another option of lowering yout car,a little more.
Spring clamps is what you use to install your springs... it compresses the spring to whatever you want it... fisrt of all, obviously its not the best way to go and you will have everbody posting how bad of an idea it is... but its up to you... the biggest problems i see here are the shocks and the warranty... if you are lowering your car more than 2" you will break your struts quick, and you wont be able to take it to the dealership for new ones.... also, do you have stock rims? if you have bigger than 18s thats gonna be another problem too.... to answer thetaxguy's question, right now there are no springs that lower the car more than the teins.... i think the teins are the best way to go cause the other springs that are being sold, you can BARELY tell the car is lowered... now, ive been working with suspensions for a long time... i know that the teins arent made for our cars and their spring rate wont give you "the best ride quality" but then then again, my only worry about that are the struts... there are people that have had them for a long time and they havent reported any damages from the actual springs... so other than that, i thing you will be fine at the end of the line its your money and your car.. its up to you homes 8)
im not worried about the warranty.i have the 16s.theres enough gap left to where i park my car by my GFs mazda6,her car is stock, and hers is still lower than my car and everyone elses, guranteed.but now i can stick 2 fingers in both front and rear wheel gaps.that another 1/2 inch would make it at least 1 finger which is low for this car,but still high compared to others.i still scrape as of now, this was just a thought.you can always take them off
I would suggest cutting the springs than using the clamp. They are both bad but the clamps are the worse than cutting the springs. Just be prepared for a new set of struts and shocks sooner. If you got the cash and want a lower stance the lowering springs, bag it!!!
