hey guys.. needa lil help.. I have my amp n 2 subs hooked up thru a high/low I ran from the navi unit and they're workin fine but I can't get my aftermarket speakers amplified... when I try n splice into the positive n negative terminals no sound comes from any speaker & when I tried connecting the speakers directly to the amp I got nothin as well.. wat am I doin wrong fellas?
get one more speaker... or test your speaker to make sure they are good... how? 1.- Get a AA battery 2.- Two piece of speaker cable and connect the cable to the speaker 3.- connect positive to the positive side of the speaker and tap the negative to hear for pops or sounds... from the speaker... if no sound then you've got yourself blown speakers... PS. make sure you dont leave the battery conected to the speaker.. just tap to hear noise... other wise it might damage your speaker... safe way is to get a tester... and check your OHMs... but am gessing you dont have one...
thx for the feedback ..I thought that too but I wasn't clear enought before... the speakers do work & play , just not when they're connected to to amp (wierd enough as it sounds) .. I increased volume from navi unit & the gain levels from amp but still nothing
a. check the fuse. most amps come with a fuse on the amp it's self. should be blade type probly 20 to 30 amps. pullit out and check if it's blown. also if you installed an inline fuse on the power cable check it as well. b. you got any kind of meter? check to make sure that your getting power to both your main incoming power and the remote turn on. both should be seeing 12v to 14v when everything is on. you shole also have indicator litght on the amp. are they lit up? if there is one labled protection and it's on, then there is something wrong with the amp and the protection circuit is keeping it from turning on.
another thing I forgot to tell your... make sure there is audio coming out of your Hi/Low Converter... LOL...
