I hope this hasn't been asked for yet. I am slowly upgrading my sound system and ran into an issue because I do not know which is + and which is -. I tried googling for a diagram and no luck. Also tried searching the forum and no luck as well. Here is an image of what I am looking what, it is a ES lancer.
i dont know the colours but what you can do is use a 9volt battery and use 2 wires one for the + and one for the - and the touch to connectors on ur stock speaker. When u have the + to the + and the - to the -, the speaker should push outwards. once that is figured out you have now figured out which wire from your radio is + and -. I havent worked on lancers yet so i cant tell you the colours hope this helps
Thanks for that advice mate. I tried it and it worked. By the way if I get it + and - than the speaker goes inward right? Because thats what ahppened. Anyhow, I got it all setup and works fine for now. Thanks for the help mate, greatly appreciated!
Glad you asked. My freind and I both thought yellow would be the positive. Turns out we were wrong, good thing I tested before hooking up. So just for any of you guys in the future, on the DE/ES (I am not sure if gts is the same) The colors for the speakers are the fallowing Baby Blue = Positive Yellow = Negative
when you get the + with the + and the - with the - the speaker should push outwards if the speaker goes in its cause you have the - with the + and + with the - the speaker goes inwards meaning you have it backwards
LOL, no its my business to know. I have a database of just about every car made. It provides all the wire colors for speakers, door locks, alarms, remote starts, ect, ect.
I am guessing to post that diagram. I would love to get my hands on it also as I am going to be purchasing a deck soon and need to know what is what to install it properly.
yup and if you ever sell the car just throw in the stock radio and done like if you never had an aftermarket radio in there
I ordered a Sosche kit that came with a wire harness for the lancer as well. Should these wire colors match up the plugs of the aftermarket unit or what?
Okay another question. I looked over the manual and everything is straight forward except for one wire. I have a orange/white wire, and on the manual it doesn't have that wire go anywhere, any ideas? Also, this is the manual I am using as reference. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/Stati ... al0128.pdf
Thats an "illumination" wire. Just leave it alone. Place either a cap on it or some electrical tape. Basically its not needed.
