    Hello everyone,

I'm not a Lancer owner myself, but I have owned few Mitsubishi cars in the past (Mirage, Turbo'd Galant, and a 2nd Gen. 350hp DSM). I gave up on Mitsu cars after my DSM got totaled and the new (at that time) 3G eclipses didn't seem very appealing and lancers looked even worse (no offense) with their cheap interiors - althou I love EVO's. Reason I stopped by is because of my girlfriend's Lancer. She has a 2005 lancer es. I believe the engine code is 4G94. Well the problem is, she doesn't believe in preventive maintanence until something breaks  so today finally she started getting some misfire (with 5 yr old spark plugs). As suspected I pulled two of them and they looked pretty bad. Car had NGK BKR5E, so I figured I'll go to AutoZone and either get the same or BKR6E. Well to my dissapointment, neither of those are listed for lancer application. All they had is some Auto Lite and NGK Irridiums. Pretty much same thing happened when I checked NAPA and O'Reillys. I decided I'll just get the AutoLite's for now to fix the misfire, but when I compared them to the ones that are in the car right now, the part that screws into the head is longer on the new plug compared to old one (sorry for the lack of terminology here).
Now, I've ran BKR6E without any problems in 4 different cars (mirage, galant, eclipse, and jetta 1.8t). I don't get it what's the deal now? Does it matter if they're longer a bit? My second preference was to get BOSCH spark plugs, but they didn't have those listed for lancer either. Any recommendations?

Sorry for the lenghty post and thanks in advance for your help.

If the Spark Plugs are longer, it may that the piston will hit them!!

I had the same situation. The OEM threads are about 1/4 inch or so linger than any aftermarket plugs. I searched everywhere...and only mitsu can get them. I did run some NGK plugs for a while, but it actually hurts mileage. From Mitsu, they should run you about 45 bucks.

That's what I was worried about...

    Which NGK's did you run?
The ones you bought from dealer, were they irridium?

I know this is kinda old, but what did you gap the plugs to?
