I was looking into installing a short shifter. Has anyone on here put one in there Lancer? Right now it looks like B&M is the best company to go with for the money you have to spend. I am just looking for some input on if its worth it and if the install is hard?? Thanks everyone!
I want to reduce my distance by at least 35%! Which B&M makes a adjustable throw shifter.... That might be the one I am going to go with! It can reduce the distance up to 50%!
TWM Performance FTW! These guys make the best quality shizz. Only reasons I regret not getting the 5 speed is b/c I cant order another shifter from them! So Sad! Ohh, and their weighted shift knobs are to die for! So many styles and finishes! Scott
I currently have the B&M adjustible and a ralliart counterweight knob...great combo. It may be me, but I would recommend not adjusting it all the way down. The trim ring on the center console will bruise the hell out of your wrist. Lol as for the install, its simple as hell...I would recommend swapping out your bushings to the metal type. They're more durable and you get that cool ass "shink" sound when you shift. Ha...I'm an idiot for that one
Yea... just ordered it. Its not the greatest but it was a packaged deal. Get the short shifter and metal bushings .. its going to reduce the distance by 40%!
I dont know... I didnt have one anyways... Always done my own work... as far as I know voids the warranty!
One thing Mitsu, and I hate that I forgot to tell you, but you may want to buy another shifter retainer(the white plastic piece around the shifter). If you don't you will have to cut your stock shifter to get it out. On one end, you have the pivot ball and on the other, you have the huge metal block that's welded to the shifter. Sorry, but I forgot I had to do that in case I ever wanted to replace the stock one.
i got one in my 08 lancer...works... at the time thats all they had but short shifter helps alot for me do what you feel is right
Does anyone know the best place to pick up a shifter retainer! I was looking last night to see what you were saying and I can see what you mean.
