So here is the deal. I have been trying to seal up my hole exhaust for about two weeks now. And for some reason it just wont stay sealed. I am not sure if I am doing it worng or what. So what I am looking for is a little guidance on the subject. So I have been using the copper guasket maker. And no actual guaskets. Just putting the stuff on and letting it cure. Any suggestions on my problem?
Well first if you can always buy proper seals or gaskets to seal any system. So i assume the leak is at one connection or another? Your leaks could be from. the thickness of your seal( it may not be the proper thickness, or isnt a consistant thickness. That sealant may not be able to handle the vibrations created from your engine.). when your finished have you ensured all you pipe hangers are tightened the slack will cause exessive vibration cracking that gasket goop. Also what is its temp rating? If its out of range it the goop melts creating a leak and possible fire hazzard. So thats just my 2 cents on it. I hope you figure it out good luck.
Thats for the 2 cents. I have gotten it sealed and its sounding and running great now. It ended up I was not using the right rtv... and my last connection need to be redone. It was not lined up properly. Thanks everyone.
