Get a capacitor. it will prevent amp lost due to high output demand from your amp and sub

Aye, this will solve this problem for sure. I got a 800w pioneer with 2 10s and it happened to me too.

$80 to $200. Depends on make but all caps are really the same (construction wise) but some come with cool tools to tell you voltage etc. Its really easy as it just goes into the postive line from your battery and and connects to your amp. Get a pro to install it as you could blow fuses and maybe yourself  , and make sure you dont touch the top two leads together as it will short circut.

I paid about 50 for instalation and i think 90 for capacitor.... cant really rememeber its been awhile... plus they did my HIDs at the same time so the price shot up alot more

Ill try to take a picture of mine, but we bolted my box to my trunk and stuff and they put the cap next to my amp, which bolted to the back of my box. if anyone else decides to get another amp, dont do the same, it will over heat a lot, which is one of my first problems.

A general rule is 1 Farad Cap per 1000 watts.

Caps are super easy to install. You can do it yourself with a voltage meter, resistor, or test light. So save your money and do it yourself.

Also, I sell caps. The cheapest cap I have is a 2 Farad cap with a digital display for $27. Shipping will be $8. So for $35 you could have a new 2 farad cap. Thats 1/3 of what the others are paying and its a larger cap!!!

For the others: Its sucks knowing you got ripped off!!!

Now that that has been covered, know that a cap is simply a "patch" to the real problem. The real problem lyes in your charging system. The alternator is weak in the Lancer to begin with. Plus, check all your wiring. Make sure you have good solid contact on all positives and a solid metal-to-metal ground. Many times I have seen individuals install caps and it not solve the problem.
