    Hi.
I have a Lancer SE model which is between LE and GTS model.
and I bought woofer and amp today at bestbuy.
I will make mdf box for woofer in this week but I wonder factory head unit
has RCA cable for amp? If doesn't have it what can I do?
Please let me know if someone knows about it.
....6 years ago I had a 98 neon and I hooked up amp power from head unit
...that was small red wire...and I had to smell something burn like wire burning when every time music is on...finally I found out my head unit wire connector is almost burned out. I almost cook my car.
This time I want to make sure every thing is alright before do it all my self.
    Thank you

    Yes. SE

I live in Canada and when I bought a car dealer said to me they can't get GTS so they created SE model. It has all ES standard and comes with fog lights, air dams. rear spoire, sun roof.
I'll looking for a map of the stock audio system here. maybe I missed it
    Thank you

There are no factory RCA's in your OE system. You will have to use a Hi to Lo converter. Always run a power wire from the battery with and in line fuse holder to the amp

if you're just running a 4 channel amp you'll only need to get 2 hi-lo converters. You can get a 4ch converter online for about $20...don't go to Best buy. When i went there they were selling just one of those for $25 and I needed 2...so yeah...f*** that

OR just get a aftermarket deck and you won't need them cause some of the ones that they make now have RCA outputs on them

    Hi. AZN_Daddy.
I have a 2 channel amp for woofer and I'll use single woofer only.
    I guess I only need 1 converter.
    I'll check online shops.
    Thank you for your help.[/img]

I went local audio shop and I ask hi-low convertor and they gave me
singer Ground Loop Isolator. It has female RCA input line and male RCA output line so I ask again that my car HU doesn't have RCA cable how can I hook up? then they said cut female RCA cable and connect to speaker wire.
    is that right?
hi-low convertor and ground loop isolator are same?

that's interesting...I know Serious08 is a guru on this kinda stuff...but a hi-lo converter should be a box with female RCAs coming out of one side and wires the other. not sure why they gave you that. don't cut shit. return it.

Here is what a hi-lo/rca/line output converter looks like:

I am not recommending that you buy from this person or anything. Just using it as a pic

essentially, the wires on one side to connect to the stock deck. on the other is rca outputs so you can hook your rca cables from that to the amp.

    Thank you. ANZ-Daddy.
I went future shop and I show ground loop isolater to installer and he said
they are different. isolater is reduce electronical noise to amp and hi-low makes high voltage to low voltage to amp.
They looks same execpt female cable.
I bought hi-low converter for $15 from future shop.
    Thanks again ANZ

u can do it and I do it on hi end Bose setups. However for what the Lancer needs you should just use a standard Hi-Lo.
