check your door... there's a sticker on the side of rather the door, or the car... where the door and the car meets, driver's side... unless i'm mistaken it'll say PVEZ or FED... and FED has more HP, PVEZ has an extra cat so it loses some power, seeing as your from NY... i "think" they sell PVEZ models there

just noticed i said FED, i meant NY sells PVEZ i think... almost certain it's a cali emissions state

quick look up on cali emissions states gave me this (from a ford website)

California Emissions System (Required on units for California, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, and Vermont registration. Optional for Cross-Border States (Arizona, Connecticut, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island).)

at least the 09 GTS only has 1 model =)... so i guess both cali spec and non cali spec all get the same GTS

new york has been under the cali emissions laws for a while... even before 2007 so i doubt they would import a car from a non-pvez state... i'm almost certain now that you have the PVEZ spec....

    sorry :-\

btw... for the lable... it'll be rather on the door or on the car itself where the door and the car meets... like one of these two...

bringing this back up rather than making a new post, if on the sticker of your car says California Emissions Standard, does that mean it's PZEV? If so, how can you remove the second cat? And/Or which cat should be removed to get the most power?

Yes, Cali Emissions Standard = PZEV... pre-cat can be removed with the RRM PZEV header or test pipe. It is on the end of the stock exhaust manifold. This will however throw a cel so if you don't want to look at that everyday or you have to worry about passing inspection then you will need to get the CEL eliminator to go along with that.

thanks. can i just remove my regular cat or will that trigger a CEL and pass emissions?

touching any emissions equipment (aka cats) will #1 void emissions equipment warranty, #2 cause failure in inspection unless you know someone, and #3 is illegal... technically, varies state to state

But hey, tons do it and our cars are really good emissions wise anyways so its not like you are ruining the environment or anything. I say go with header!

i'll make sure that whatever i get i can swap back to for emissions. here in ct we really dont need the PZEV but because ny and mass require them and were dirght next to them we have to as well.

Sweet, just checked mine today and no mention of California Emissions, just meeting Federal emissions, so i'm FED right? I was worried for a sec after reading this thread
