optima battery

    I was thinking about upgrading the stock batter to either a Optima red top or yellow top.

    But the real question is?

    Is it worth upgrading from stock. i have no aftermarket sound system jus thte stock RF system.

    but i feel like the stock battery is just week.

    all you need is a red top...the yellow tops are deep cycle

    what makes you feel the battery is weak?

    well i get alot of static pops and noise from my RF speaker system. long cranking

    I had the same static and pops that you described, and I replaced with the red top Optima, no problems now

    thats exactly what i needed to hear :).

    I will be getting a red top for xmas.

    How much did you pay for yours?

    Which redtop did you get? Been thinking about replacing the stock battery as well. Cold starts in Chicago suck with a battery that just doesn't seem up to the task sometimes.

    i ended up not getting it cause i dont' have much money :(, but you can go to the optima site and they will tell you the exact red top you need.
