    illutsion

that is real dirt from mt baldy

these tires are awsome top of the line
    so im happy

for 18's 235 is pushing it depending on what tires you have

i have toyos[my other set] and there a bit smaller then average bulky ones

245 is beyond pusing it but since there 17's its not as bad :D

actually... those wheels are smaller then the stock...

    stock - 215/45/18 or 205/60/16

both come out to a diameter of 25.6 inches...

    ur tires - 245/40/17

come out to a diameter of 24.7 inches...

so, it's actually 1 inch smaller, so of course it's gonna fit and not gonna have any rubbing :p

just a side note, cuz ur tires are smaller, ur speedometer is gonna read faster then ur actualy going... when your speedometer says ur going 60 mph, ur gonna actually be going 57.9 mph

    just thought i'd let u know ^_^

actually it the other way around if i was going 60 id actually be going 62.5

and im thinking no one knows the real quality of this tire

its actually the only reason why i got the rims

do you know what the new rims weigh? If i remember right our stockies with no tire were about 23-25 lbs a rim

for sure less then what i had on

didnt get a chance to weigh them

didnt even really want to put the TPS on i was actuall just thinking about keeping the rims for whenever i go out

    but everyone likes them! WTF!

    some good ass tires though

there are a set in a thousand oaks 225/40/18
    i wannnnnna go so badly!

no, it's like i originally said, ur going to be going slower then ur speedometer says... time for some math...

    Stock -
    Diameter 25.6 inches
    Circumfrence (2*pi*r) = 80.384 in = .00126868 miles/revolution

    Ur Tires -
    Diameter 24.7 inches
    Circumfrence (2*pi*r) = 77.558 in = .00122408 miles/revolution

now lets say your going at a speed where your tires are turning at rate of 47293.25 revolutions per hour (i chose that number for a reason, i'll get to it in a sec)

that means with your stock tires you are going...

    47293.25 rev/hr * .00126868 mi/rev = 60.0000 miles/hr

that is excatly what your speedometer is going to read, 60miles/hr

now... with your tires going at the same exact revolutions per hour in which your speedometer is going to read 60 mph... you will be ACTUALLY going...

    47293.25 rev/her * .00122408 mi/rev = 57.8907 miles/hr

this basically proves what i said above.. you will be going SLOWER then what your speedometer says, not the other way around

btw, another side note... this does NOT mean you will be going 2.1 mph slower all the time, it actually goes by a percentage... that percantage being your going 57.8907)60 = 96.4845%....

    for example:

if your going like before 60mph... u'll actually be going
    60 * .964845 = 57.8907 mph

    80 mph
    80*.964845 = 77.1876 mph (a 2.8124 mph difference)

so you will always be going 3.5155% slower then your speedometer says...

hope u enjoyed the math lesson in geometry and conversions ^_^

jw, is that for the DE or the ES/GTS rims... cuz the DE has steelies where as the ES/GTS have aluminum alloy rims...

i believe i read it was for the GTS rims because someone had actually bought a new rim-set and weighed the GTS stockies for comparison.

you're correct though. the trims have different wheels so it's accurate to say my weight estimation does not include the DE or ES.
