hey guys i was just looking at my engine bay and i was thinking may be RRM would desing a full CAI. if you notice that there is load od space below the drivers healight, that where the pipe with a filter would be located. and then just basically remove the whole OEM setup and make a U shaped pipe to connect to the filter. here is what i am talking bout, the drawing is not very good, this is just to show u guys the idea.
i know its a really bad picture and drawing of it..but it will give you an idea of where the pipe would go.. have you guys looked down down there there is load of space.

what if take out the whole xtock filter box including the pipe and relocate the battery to the filter area then we can put the full CAi behind the headlight where there is much space...what you think?

Why not, it should work. Summit racing has a battery relocation set up, not sure how much tho.

i believe WORKS is in development of a CAI with or without batter relocation. at least thats what they say.

WORKS is a whole different company. they also have been trying to keep up with RRM. they have only came out with springs that drop the car 1.1inches all around. this is their website http://worksevo.com/

I emailed Injen about an intake system about a week ago and they told me they already have the protype done for one and the release date is pending. So thats some good news.

JakeGTS, I think your on to something. My dad and I just came back from the junkyard, looking for parts to make our own intake, similar to what you are thinking. We plan on going through the inner fender well, down to the fog light grill area. Theres plenty of room down there.

yeah!!! finally someone read the actual post and replied to it!!!! OMG there is so much space there, only problem is if you look where the headlight is inside, there is a small hole, i dunno maybe have to squish the pipe a little to make it fit in there... ahhh hard to explain i will take a pic tomorrow morning and let ya'll see what ia m talking bout...

but yeah look how far that plastic air vent is from the battery i wanna say an inch, then see how thick it is now remove it and add a pipe and see if the hood will clear it!!... i take pics tomorrow

Yea, bud, I sat a three inch tube and elbow right over top the battery, and the hood shut and cleared it just fine. Did that this morning. I was thinking of going through the hole, about a few inchs back through the fender, and down to where the fog light area is. This holes only a couple inches back from the one you were talking about, but its a lot bigger. Have you played with the rubber tube coming off the engine, will that bend the way we want it to go???
