Hello! I am looking at buying some new rims for my car I want to konw if I will have any probs with these rims They are 18x7 with a 40mm offset I konw ours is 46 or 47 I think Does this mean that the rim will be sticking out farther than the stock or going inside the fender more
If I am not mistaken our stock GTS rims are a +46 offset. Any less offset and the tire will stick out further than stock. I was looking into some +42ish rims. If you get them take pictures. Btw, less offset means you can possibly run wider tires although your steering may feel a little more heavy. Go balls to the wall and get some 245s or 255s ! Here's a link that may help. http://www.yokohamatire.com/utcustom.asp And another one. https://www.rsracing.com/tech-wheel.html
Hello! I was just thinking of using my gts tires on them since they are 18x7 I want to save some money too So this means that the tire will stick out more than normal right Do you know how that will look like exactly?
No one knows exactly how it will look. Lets break it down School House Rock style. Every offset unit = 1 mm. Therefore if you go +40, your rim will be pushed 6mm out from the center line of the car. See if your wheel and time shop will allow you to test fit a rim on your car. That is the only way you will be able to see exactly what it will look like. However, be careful. If you go too negative your tires will rub if you lower your car. Happy hunting! 8)
The funny thing is only the old people on here will know what I am talking about. Happy Turkey Day everyone!
Thats almost exactly factory fit, I would not worry about any rubbing as long as you use the stock 215/45-18s that the GTS comes with.
LOL, well Im over thirty and I remember the old school house rocks, lol... "I'm just a Bill, sitting on Capital Hill" ... lol
