I have finally found the right set of wheels to put on my ride. I was looking for something that wasn't too extreme, but went with my whole "spiderman" look.

I have decided to go with 17" Kosei K1 TS, Light Grey Painted. They will be going on my rally red lancer. Still haven't decided on tires yet.

    Offset: 42mm
    Bolt Pattern: 5-114
    Rec. Tire Size:215/50-17
    **Lightweight: 14.1 lbs

    $179 each

    * You think this is a good set of wheels? or should I go bigger, 18".
** What kind of tires would you recommend.[/img]

i think 17's a good size, like the look, and 14lbs wow thats a lil light for me but nice selection.

IMO thats great, anything for weight reduction. although the offset maybe of some question. You may want to do some homework for that. Nice choice for the kosei!!!!!

u gotta be careful. light rims are great but if u go too light I heard of adverse reactions.

curious: why go with 17's and not 18's ??? are you really worried about an extra pound on each rim? are you really that hardcore of a racer where you need the weight reduction??? just seems like your never going to need to reduce the weight in any part of your car unless your a hardcore racer who always goes to the track. i use to race a lot and be considered a hardcore racer and trust me, you will never notice a difference by reducing the weight in your rims. i mean you might see a little bit better gas millage but thats about it. in all reality, weight reduction is only for the hardcore racer who is going to use his/her car on the track....

um.....I'm not sure if physics is applied to this..but I would think shedding weight of ur wheels will boost performance...its simplly lightening up rotating masses

yes this is true, but like i said....your never going to FEEL the difference. the only time your really going to tell, is if you take your car to the track and time it. your only going to see like a .0001 of a difference in time (maybe not exact, but you get what i mean)

besides, EVERY weight reduction helps gas milage and acceleration...

hell, even if YOU loose 20 pounds you will see a difference haha

Its a HUGE difference. Though most factory alloys are generally rather lightweight nowadays.

i actually did some research on this..there was a test with a miata..they used a light set and a heavy set....on the track they only say ~0.4 of a second difference.

    thanks for all your views...

Well I was asking my other friends, getting a second opinion, and they kinda thought that maybe 18" was too big for my car. I couldn't say if they where right or wrong because I didn't know too much on the wheels/tires, you know, big=bad, or big=good, and so on....

The extra pound isn't really a big concern to me... But maybe I should go for the 18".

Any suggestions on some great tires?

thanks for all the input... I have decided to upgrade, and go with 18". I also just realized these look similar to KRUs set of wheels.

as for tires, I can't seem to find the right ones.... any suggestions on a good set of tires?
