this is what the guy said " Who said a stock GTS could not have an iPod cable put in, this is an option from Mitsu Works on all Lancer's even ones with Base Headunit. To tell if you can get it Hold the CD button for 5 sec until you see AUX if you do then you can get it installed also."

Yes. This has already been covered in the previous "AUX" topic. As long as the car has the ability to take in an auxiliary audio input or SAT radio which is also a form of Aux input, you can setup a hardware harness either simply like what is shown in the picture or a complete harness that will plug into the Apple iPod's 30 pin connector to get your MP3s on the stock radio. Since I believe that all forms of the new Lancers radio have at least the ability to do SAT radio, you can use that input in the back of the radio to do your harness.

I know that Best Buy usually can do it. I work at Best Buy and as many have heard, Sammy, our installer is bad ass at making anything work. The thing to keep in mind is they made need to order some parts in because the Lancer is still relatively new to the market. If you have any questions about it, post it in the Aux topics or PM me and I will try my best to answer your question.

(It would seem I have officially become a walking billboard for Best Buy...I should be getting paid for this...)

Okay i drove around to dealer and some shops and best buy.
Turns out the guy that said that we all can get an aux is wrong big time. He might have the 6disk cd player or somthing because what i will need is to buy a complete harness kit which is $200 so fuck that!
Anyways it sucks but its all a bunch of bullshit that a defult head unit can have an aux port hooked up from just a wire or 2 because i took out the whole cd player today and saw not other ports for where you can even put in rca plugs.

If you are talking about the hardwire harness install through an aux input in the back of the car, then yes, Bras_33, generally it runs around $150 to $200. It all depends on what and how many parts are needed to make it work as well as how much said parts are. Installation cost is generally about $50 or so. Most cars that I have seen float in the $100 to $150 range. It is the higher end Beamers, Caddies, Benzs, etc. that are more expensive because they take more time to install because of all the extra electronics built into the car by the factory for the extra stuff meaning a shit load more wires/harnesses/switches to deal with.

There are different versions of the factory radio also. Did you get any of the sun/sound package or anything like that. If not, the bare bone system would understandably have less options compared to another one. Lots of factory radios look the same, but packaging and options make a big difference where it counts.

The $150-$200 would include the cable, wiring connection harness, audio aux porting switch and pins, and labor to install. It is not just a cable.

They dont plug in via RCA jacks, they plug into the factory harness, where there are a few empty spots (there are instructions floating around).

ok that cable should cost 56 dollars in the parts dept at mitsu. its a 1/8" plug with a signal isolator on the other end and pigtails. it plugs into the wire side of the wiring harness in the back of your deck.

There are three wires red, black, white. They take up three of the empty spaces in your deck. The wire comes with detailed instructions that anyone should be able to follow.

They told you 200 dollars cause thats what they want to install it. If you have an open night and are capable of getting your dash apart you can put this in. I did it in less then an hour
