hey whats up, i just received the RRM exhaust and i am having trouble installing it. By what i mean is that the hooks and the rubber thingies that the exhaust supposed to hang do not match, if possible, please can someone who has the exhaust take a picure of how you have hung the exhaust on those rubber things, did u modify anything??? please take the picture of the way your exhaust is hanging asap ( looking at the back of the car, take the pictures from the right side underneath) please jake
Congrats!!!! I havent done it yet. I saw what you mean by "hook rubber thingy." I am almost certain you may have to let a muffler shop weld it. Does it have any "hooks or prongs" near the canister? When I put the greedy on my eclipse, I was lucky I knew someone who can weld.
for paying 325.00 for it i would have expect everything to just install on few minutes i am going to the muffler shop tomorrow morning to weld it on... pics to come tomorrow. bras if you dont mind posting some pics of those rubber thingies and how you have it set up
Could you post pics of the exhaust so I can see what it looks like before you install it on the car? Maybe the hanger isn't needed. I bought a catback system a while back and I didn't need the hanger for my muffler section. Is there a hanger close to the connecting piece? Did it bolt up ok?
My bad, I have no exhaust system yet for my 08, its on my eclipse. As for the rubber thingies, I am assuming you are talking about the ones near the muffler (looking forward) on the right side corner. IMO, its kinda a lot to pay for an axle back exhaust. Let us know what kind of gains you get after the install
yeah, all done, went to my boys muffler shop and he welded a new hook for me, now guys from what i heard from SHOWTIME you have to take the rubber thing from the drivers side and switch it onto the passengers side to make everything line up, basically the welding is not needed.....go ahead and get the RRM exhausts! it is like rob says a straight bolt on with minor modification ( the rubber thingie) and yes i do notice gains, even in regular auto mode.
make sure you dont listen to this on lap top computer, the small speakers make this exhaust sound ricey, but its actually really deep tone sound.... it was recorder with a digital camera, i will get a video camera later on and compare the sounds.. but here it is. http://img531.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... 001kc0.flv
it sure does, and the tone of the muffler is awesome, did u watch the video.. th elink is posted above somethere.
ha! love the cat walking by in the video is it yours? By the way, it would be awesome to get a clip of the muffler under real acceleration... like the one on the Greddy site for the Ti-C mufflers!
i will try, i need a friend to video tape...and i dont have any firends hahahhaha jk....gotta find some time!
so jake would you recomend the rrm exhaust. im prob ordering it it on wednes. do you have te intake installed also. i just ahve the intake and its fairly loud. if you have the intake hows the combo?
i have the exhaust on only, intake should be here in about 2 weeks. Rob told me he shipped out about 10-15 which were on back order for about 3-4 weeks, he is making about 50-100 more, should ship anytime. and yes i would recomend the RRM exhaust to you, they used finest parts. Magnaflow muffler, magnaflow tip, the exhaust is really deep, doesnt sound nothing like all those riced out hondas out there. You should get it for real!
Jake - How is the response from the accelerator? the pick-up? how heavy was the huge a$$ o.g. muffler? Damn, so many questions, my bad
i have ctv, so when i race from a stop the 1st gear is sluggish untill it reashes about 2 to 2.5k then is freakin amazing, really do notice a difference. the OEM muffle is pretty heavy i wanna say some 16 - 20LBS Ha! great weight reduction...
