I was looking at some 17's wondering if they would fit (dont know much bout offsets and rims and all that, not sure it matters?)
    Their 17's
    Offset is 42
    And it has bolt patterns 4 x 100/114.3 and 5 x 100/114.3

Sorry if this may seem like a dumb question to some

First you must have an older Lancer. Second 40 isnt that bad mind you we dont actually know what type of car your drivin. I have an offset 38 17s. they are on my progress forum. BUt i think you should do alright. But no more than 45. I f you check out the forums under tires you will get alot of info.

on what model do you want to put them on? if you have a GTS i would stick with 18, but for DE or ES i think that they come with 16 so 17 would be okay. our offset is 46

I have the DE they come with stock with 16" steelies. Ive tried to reading stuff about the offsets but i dont really get it. Something like how much time is outside or inside the rim? Can someone put it in laymons terms what exactly is an offset and the benfits of having a particular offset?
