I decided to make this thread since i finally figured out whats wrong with car. Over the past couple of months iv talked with a lot of members who have experienced the same issue and have posted about it. Unfortunately, no one ever gave a real reply as to what could be causing the issue. bumpsteer is annoying as hell but at high speeds can be dangerous. After lowering your car you might not experience it right away i didn't either it took time for the symptoms to show. So if you are lowered and have not done anything else to your suspension you could start to experience this same issue over time. The reference below is exactly what im experiencing right now. I had scary moment coming back from MOD when i went over some rough road next to a construction wall my car almost jerked right into it and almost jerked into the left lane. I had find a lane where the road was not as bad in order drive safely. bumpsteer: refers to the toe angle of the car changing as the suspension travels in it’s up and down motion. This is due to the tie rods traveling at a different rate than the control arms. This is compounded by a rough or imperfect road surface that will cause the suspension to react. The result is a car that feels like it changes directions as it hits these imperfections in the road. At best, bumpsteer is a nuisance. At its worse, it can be dangerous on rougher roads and higher speeds. This is accentuated when the car is lowered and its “normal†ride height has already placed the tie rods and control arms in a much different position than the manufacturer intended. The fix for this is a bumpsteer kit, such as those offered by Steeda. Here is a Wiki article detailing a few more things My link This article really helped me understand front end geometry. Modding your car can be very rewarding but understanding your car can be even more so My link I will be upgrading my shocks and getting bumpsteer kit. As soon as i find out which one im going to get i will post here. I thought this would help out a lot of people who dont realize whats going on with your ride and why their steering wheel feels so loose.
