Hi. I live in Kitchener.Ontario.Canada I had a flat tire few days ago so I took it out of car and went to local tire shop and all of us wonder why tire vlavestem is broke? guess..I may made someone mad or bad kids did it? But I remember month ago there was screw in same tire so I went canadiantire and they fixed it. so I tell the story to tire guys and they said canadiantire guy broke it and cover with platic air cap!!! It is very danger. could be tire brow in the middle of highway becouse I drive highway everyday. I feel I'm lucky becouse It brew after I park my car. anyway tire guy asked to me go to mitsubishi dealer becouse this valve has sensor at bottom so he can fix it. That's why canadiantire mechanic didn't fix it and cover with air cap I went mitsu dealer and they fix it finally and cost me $180 Canadian dollar. parts for $116 and reprogram and tax..... at last I went to Canadiantire and met service manager and I told him about this and He said to me I have to get permit to fix it from him but how do I know need permit to fix my car as customer I don't know their rule and he sais tire gus or mitsu mechanic may broke it too!! so I said I have picture before go to each shop. and there is no scrach or dent in my rim. that mean I didn't hit any road and coners. also mitsu mechanic said he guaranty canadiantire mechanic broke it they tied too hard and broke and he said last winter it happen many times not just me. at last canadian tire service manager said to me go back home and he will think about this and will call me but he didn' phone me back yet now 2 days past. any idea guys? thank you
i have no clue how stuff over in Canada works but there is no such thing as "needing a permit". I think he knows there's a possibility his workers are responsible for your damages. Then again, as a business owner he'd wanna see proof of his company being responsible. It sounds like he won't meet you halfway on this matter so the next thing i'd do is gather all evidence i could (from mitsu) at least detailing why they feel your CanadaTire place is responsible. How they had to fix it, and why they had to fix it. You get stuff like that in writing and people will realize just how serious you are. If Mr. owner guy still won't meet you halfway in terms of a settlement or resolution, I'd try to seek legal advice. I won't say sue, because suing is never the final way to anything. But usually a nice stern threat that you MIGHT sue could get this manager guy on your side instead of fighting against you.
Hi. Evolve Thanks for your advice I went canadiantire last saterday and I met service manager again and he said to me he didn't make decision yet so I handed some photoes to him also he said he will talk about this with mechanic who fixed my car and phone me about monday. I'm getting upset now.. also canadiantire is big company in Canada like wal mart. Let see how they care customer.
Well i would get ahold of your Dealerships head mechanic and have him call CT. That may get a ball rolling have the dealership give them a quote on the stem replacent. It just seems that they will give you the run around until you give up. Keep it up.
That is common with Tire Pressure sensors. I've seen it especially when people put chrome valve caps on the aluminum sensors. It corrodes and breaks, and looks just like that when it happens. That does not mean it was accidentally broken. Its highly doubtful it was a malicious action.
i'd say ur 100% ok... pics mean A LOT... if worse comes to worse, u have pictures... and i'm sure u can get a statement from ur dealership and hopefully from the second tire repair shop... with those 3, pics and 2 statements... i'm sure u could win in court... but as Evolve said... try to stay away from court and try to settle it w/ the manager at candiantires
Thanks guys. They didn't phone me on monday. I will wait couple of more days and if they still do nothing I like to to something to them. Money is not important than safety I could get an accident Can I report it to local news paper and post all kind community web site? so they can have a hard time.
Hi. Today is wednesday. manager still didn't phone me so I went CT again and soon manager saw me at shop he just want to see me at service desk and gave me money back that I paid at mitsubishi dealer. So I'm kind a happy now but tire could blow anytime and that still makes me scare.
