I'm planning on buying some 18x7 rims and just wanted to switch the stock tires over to the new rims. How much do you think they'll charge for the whole process.
^ I think he is asking how much it would cost to dismount the rubber off our stock rims and mount them onto the new rims he wants to get, not just unsrewing lugnuts and switching rims.. Thats not an easy process to do yourself with low profile tires on 18" rims. To answer the question, the dismounting/mounting wont be that exspensive, but then your going to have to pay to balance each wheel aswell, and thats where all the moneys going to be. Its been a long time since I worked in a tire shop, but it used to be about $15 to mount/balance each tire. Its been close to 15 years though, so Im sure prices have changed alot. Best bet is to call a couple of local tire shops and get some quotes, it wont take but a few minutes. And what ever you do, dont try it yourself... youll just end up with damaged rims and ripped sidewalls.
