we just cant seem to get them out, i went and bought new speakers but the stock ones are not wanting to come out
hmmmm did you remove the door pannels first? if not look for screws that should hold the pannels in place, later u might have to pop the pannels of.. BTW what size speakers front and rear did u get, and are u replacing tweeters too?
i have some old JL 6.5" speakers i wanna throw in the rear, are those door pannels tough to take off? I had an 03 Sentra SER before, and the pannels had to come off that as well, possibly the most annoying, time consuming thing i've ever done, so if you have any tips on how to do this easier let me know, thanks!!
yeah i changed mine i put 6 1/2 in the front and 5 1/4 in the back but i could of put 6 1/2 in the back
Panels are held on with 3 screws. One at the door open handle behind a cover, one at the door close handle behind a cover, and one with a cover that pops open located close to the hinge. Looks like a button. After those are removed, its held on by around 15 snaps. Just pull firmly at one corner and work your way around. The speakers are attached to a plastic base. Grab the base and turn it 2-3 inches to the left and pull out.
gr8 i got my speakers out now how do u replace them the 6.5s i have dont hook up cus the stok 1s are in a weird case any1 noeee?
You have to make an MDF speaker ring that will srew into the door. Make sure the screws don't hit the window when rolled down. Or you can buy premade plastic spacer rings. Metra makes them (part # 82-4300). You can find them through the internet, Best Buy, or Circuit City. If you can't find them, let me know. I get them for $6 a pair.
Once the speaker is visible, you need to twist the whole bracket counter-clockwise to remove it from the door. As for the speaker install, I used the factory speaker bracket, and a dremel tool and custom fitted them to mount into the factory speaker mount.
off topic here but sort of on subject,i was looking around my trunk and a saw a harness on the left side of the trunk.is that where the factory sub hooks up?could we hook up an convertor to that harness?anyone done that yet?and i saw 2 light green plastic things to clip someting in like a box,i saw another set of light green tapins on the opposite side too.any one know what they are for?
