lol... i guess thats where the money is huh? i guess thats proving even more the fact that our engine doesnt have that great potential after all...

i just cant wait for the ralliart to be out..... i think that will steal a lot of the evos revenue...

I don't think that just because AMS didn't make anything for the 4B11 means that there is no potential for it. Just means that company thinks they will see no return on making parts for it....

so prophet you think there's some potential in this engine?

There are some differences I am finding between the 4B11 and the 4B11t but IMO the 4B11 has some potential. You are not going to make good numbers right off the bat but with some tuning you get some good numbers from the 4B11.

lol... you know I really don't know why you guys with the 4b11 have this doom to end where not going to get any kind of good numbers out of this motor outlook...

The 4B series motor is based off of the EVO X that should tell you something right there. I picture it like this...

My 4G64 from my Galant I have seen dyno sheets where with I/H/E to the wheels these guys where only get 100 to 110hp. But with a simple DSM turboset up which only cost us $500.00 installed we where able to get 225whp with no internal work. That same buddy of mine is now working on a N/A set up with a DOHC from a Sonata which is the same head as the EVO VIII Click Here.

It might not be easy work with the 4B11 or it might be as easy as just slapping on the stock parts from a X to your 4B11 and now you got boost. IMO it will be that easy but it is going to take someone to actually do it before you guys believe it.

IMO there is nothing wrong with your 4B11 series motor...

    its true what prophet said
our 4b11 engine has a potential to go further than 143/152hp with carefull tuning...it may not be the evo x, but its definitely has the potential to become one...
after all i have heard about the potential of our 08lancers...i will be keeping my car so i can witness its true capability...

I think every car has a potential... even the hybrid cars.. i saw in a magazine a built prius already putting out some good numbers...

i think its not how much potential your car has, but how deep your pocket is... if you have enough money you can just buy the 4b11t internals and built yourself a beast.. granted thats not going to be easy or cheap but it is possible... but the fact that nobody has done it till now sends a message across: or its really not worth it, or we are a bunch of broke cats rofl :D

I don't think that just because no one has done it is sending any kind of message right now. It is thinking like that... that will doom the Lancer. In the first place it takes research. I don't know about you guys but a spare 4B11 isn't cheap. RRE is turbocharging the 08 but I don't think they will share there research. I do know that if RRE is turbocharging a 4B11 then it is saying something about the motor. I don't see them turbocharging a 3G Eclipse/8G Galant 4G64 or 6G72.

Second... it does take money but IMO if you can't afford to turbocharge a car or let alone purchase a turbocharged ride you shouldn't be boosted anyway.

Those of you who are hating on your Lancer's make me laugh because I look at it like... if you wanted to be fast right off the get go why didn't you buy a Evo in the first place? IMO you guys purchased your Lancers because they looked good and the price was right. I don't think any of you purchased your Lancer for performance because if you did then you made the wrong purchase. Should have done your research and saved up and waited for the Evo X or got a older Evo.

The Lancer has always beed advertised as "Hey it looks cool" the Evo has always been advertised "Hey you want performance here it is"...

You guys need to quit blaming your Lancer for being slow. The car didn't make you buy it. IMO if you want to be fast then do something about it....

Excellent point Prophet. I've got nothing to say now. Just be a little more patient. The time will come for our Lancers and the 4B11 motor.

thats true jason... i didnt do research and i didnt buy the car for the performance... the only reason i bought the car its because at the time mitsu had the best warranty in their cars.. not anymore tho...

i used to be boosted and because of lack of money i had to go this route... so i guess on on the correct path right now... whenever i get a job ill surely go back to boosted... mitsu or not, thats gonna be my last landing point...

Sory guys if I came off a bit brash.... I just don't want you guys to make the same mistake we did in the Galant community and think there is nothing out there for us. You guys have huge potential with your rides.

This forum impresses me every day and I don't want you guys to think that there is no hope. It takes time and members who just go out and do it to prove that there is hope...

You guys watch soon there will be some impressive Lancers out there...

Mitsubishi knows how to make engines that can handle turbos. Afterall Mitsubishi is the LARGEST maker of Turbos worldwide. So the 4b11 can handle power just fine, how much power, and for how long is the question.

    no worries brotha-
you didnt come off harsh at all. got straight to the point and it was good info. i bought my car cuz of all the features, price, and potential it has. its kinda like a GS/RS Eclipse, same motor/no turbo. the potential is there, now its only a matter of time for companies to come out with parts. be patient like i am and things will come together soon.
