Aftermarket HID

    Aftermarket HID... are they legal or NOT legal here in the U.S. of States... I've seen alot of cars here in NY using Aftermarket HID but i dont know if they get ticket with it... What can you say about this... Thanks!

    the only cars allowed to have HIDs (legal) are the cars that have HIDs from the factory.. other than that, all the rest are not street legal... hence the "off road use only" sign on the box when you buy them.....

    Oh I See... so how come you guys installed HID on your beloved Lancers... are you not being pulled by a cop? Just curious. Thanks!

    i don't have hid but

    over here if u have them on a car that dosen't come equip with them u can't pass safety check

    and 2nd, as long as they're not to blinding or you're not doing something reckless then a cop will most likely not pull you over

    mostlikely you wont get pulled over...most cops cant tell if new cars have hid or not...the only thing that is gonna get you pulled is when you its too bluish...

    also depends a lot on where you live. the bigger the city, the less likey you are to be bothered. unless of course they are pulling you over for something else. for expample, they won't pull you over just for your lights, but if your speeding, they'll get you for that AND your lights.

    Namely the big city cops have more imprtant things to do than worry about your lights as long as they're not overly bright.

    Florida doesnt require inspection, plus cops dont give a shit about those... look at mine on my sig :D

    lol 70% of the cars in miami have aftermarket HID's including me they not really illegal but if ur aim is off and urs r too bright u (might) get a ticket

    6,000 K and below is ok.. anything above 6K u can get a ticket for.. so get 6K and u'll be fine.

    I've had 10,000Ks for 10 months, on 24/7, and i havent got any trouble from the coppers.....

    yeah it all depends on your area i guess, i live in L.A and some cops seem to be cool with it and some don't.

    I got pulled over just for my lights before. I was speeding, around 55 in a 40, and when he was pulling me over, I thought for sure I was getting a speeding ticket. Then he says I pulled you over cuz your lights are blue. I was like..........o thank god! Lol. Which, they were pretty blue back in the day. I've had hids for about 2 or 3 years now, and can't drive at night without them. Halogens are no comparison to hids. And, like a lot of people have said, as long as you're not being a jackass or have a really obnoxious colored light, you probably won't get pulled over for just lights.
