IMO you really don't need to upgrade your brakes right now because our cars could barely move. you have to make it go faster first before you need to stop faster. obviously not unless you do any kind of autocross or anything of that nature, so save your money on brakes and buy performance parts first..

hey so my friend let someone drive her 08 cuz she was drunk and the person drove with the ebrake up, she said when she drove her 08 in the mornin that she got like a small squeak, i checked all 4 rotors and pads and they all looked fine.... should i check anything else ( i know i only needed to check the rear rotors but i figured i should just check the front just in case)

If you get heavier and larger rims, bigger brakes and rotors are the way to go. Especially for a safety stand point. How many suvs you see with big ass 24"s and have 9" rotors?

think about...the faster you go, you need to stop just as quickly

    WHAT!!!???!!!

Are you retarded? The breaks are your single most important piece of safety equipment. You should never ever EVER tune your car to exceed the stopping abilities of your breaks. Even with "minor" bolt-on upgrades, the break pads should be upgraded if you plan on driving your vehicle aggressively. Hell, even w/o performance upgrades you should upgrade your break pads if you drive aggressively.

I hope you get banned for giving that advice to another member.

I'd have to agree with thetaxguy. My car drives fast enough that when I whip it around a 25 mph curve at 65 I need to make sure my brakes are in order.

I am considering getting the street brake kit and the rear kit but I was wondering about replacement pads for them? Are they stock pads with high performance calipers or a special pad too?

I'd say that performace pads are all you really need right now. You start putting down some real power or if you get to the point where your petal gets sloshy because your break fluid it reaching a boiling point and you may want to cosider a break system upgrade with steel-braided break lines and monoblock calipers. But I'm sure that day is a long way off.

we just gotta accept it, our car isn't that fast "YET" so not unless you're just flooring it everytime you step on the gas, I don't see why you would need upgraded brakes if you only have an SRI right now but I guess you always drive fast and agressive and having upgraded brakes will be a good safety precaution. and to thetaxguy, I loved it how you just over reacted, I understand what your saying how important brakes are but WOW. not trying to sound like a smart ass but since it's such an important safety precuation, have u upgraded your brakes??

No sir. No need to. My car was purchased to be a commuter vehicle. When I want to go fast I take my motorcycle to the track where I don't have to worry about running over road debris, pot holes, or children.

hahaha please don't take this offensively but i thought that was rather funny. There is quite a difference between potholes and children...

you just proved my point, maybe I just didn't word it right but not unless you go autocrossing or floor it everytime you step on the gas, there really isn't that much need to upgrade brakes right now.
