so right now i own a 2000 civic AUTO...and i hate it with a passion lol so i was looking at a lancer cause i have loved them for awhile. so here is the question...can you make a lancer (not evo) some what fast without a engine swap? and how much would that cost?

yup, if u get stick, u can turbo. its been starting to get more popular now and people have tested and proven that it works :) it'll be around 4-5k if u buy from RRM

Well, it IS possible..but there is quite a bit to do. For example, my RA came with the 2.4L vs. The ES and OZ's 2.0. From the start, the ES put out roughly 120HP..and the RA put out a claimed 167HP (dynoed at stock, mine was about 149 I think). When I first built mine, I was only going to do bolt-on mods..but after intake, header, exhaust, and throttle body spacer I was pushing 174HP. Luckily for me, a friend's lancer was totalled when a chick ass-ended him...I aquired his engine and internals. As of now..I have intake, custom exhaust, custom header, ported throttle body, ported intake manifold, ferrea valve train, forged pistons and connecting rods, fuel pump, fuel rail, and I have flashed my ECU. I had his turbo kit installed, but mileage was CRAP..so it had to go. With what I have now, I'm at roughly 240HP. Like I said, I lucked out and have invested around 1600 for performance mods. Retail, that would stack up to somewhere around 2500 or so...

I am going on my second turbo setup in less than 6 months.
The first setup cost me roughly $1500 and this one is costing me about $800.
    First was a t25 from a Silvia
Now have a Evo8 Turbo with 10.5 hotside

I have not invested as much as everyone else ... but I am just starting my mods.
Paying off the car first... almost done.
but lancers can be quick if you invest the time and money.
You will have to turbo the car to get the performance you are looking for!

what kind of horse power could i get without turboing it?

That all depends on how good the parts are you install.
and how far you are willing to go.
If you change internals on the engine you could get much more out of the car.

    Maybe 170 or 180 horses...
but thats just a guess... that is putting the hole thousand in performance mods!

the 4g94 motor in the OZ Rally 06 model is a gas saver motor, this was a earlier model 2.0 which they bored and use as stock.. the specs on mine that we have found says it will hold 7psi before you have to break into the motor.. i am looking at tuning next year, and so far everyone tells me the easy external mods first, then the bottom end, then go turbo... I dont know if this is true, just what i have heard alot of...
right now we just have a Spectra backyard built SRI on it... hope this helps!

ok so what would be the best performance mods to get first?

I went with buying the intake first.
but its all up to you... best would be a intake or exhaust!

cool thanks guys. one more question, how reliable are lancers? do they compare to my civic?

bought mine brand new in 06, i have over 50k on it... it is my daily driver, never had even the slightest hic-up with it motorwise, change the oil is all i ahve done.. now i accidently set off the airbags when changing my seats out, i ahd the battery disconnected but forgot about the battery in the trunk and POOF lol. just glad it wasnt the rally or evo then i would have had side airbags going off :) but on a serious note .... Ever manufacture puts out a good product, but there will be a person that buys that one vehicle that came off the line wrong. so i say get ya what ya want, build it to make it yours, and laugh at the haters that cant touch it :)
