Just wondering what size wheels would replace the stock GTS ones for the
winter. I was thinking of going with 17's since people think 16's might be
    to small.
So, what size tire would fit well on the Gts for the winter if I go w/ 17's

    Would appreciate info..

Well the smaller you go the ceaper. I priced out snow tires for the 18's and they were 197/piece. I found a set of OEM 16's for 300 bucks and snow tires for them are 67 each

    Dotter,
I was told that the 16's might be to small for the GTS because of the bigger stock brake rotors. So you had no problems putting the 16's on &
because of the smaller wheel, so didn't scrape bottom when you went over
    bumps.
Did you put the tire pressure sensor on the 16's or leave them off.

Anyone else that has been thru what I'm about too, please don't be
    afraid to voice your opinion.

    Thanks

The dealership told me 16s would be fine on the GTS. So thats what I'm gettin.

    I found 16s for $180 (all 4) so I got a good deal.

Dealer told me 16 too so that's what i got...

A set of 4 205/60/R16 on black rims. They are in my garage now and will probably try them on to make sure it all fits... but from what i read on other forums and all, alot of people with GTS got 16'' last winter on their 08 GTS, so i assumed it would be the same for a 09 GTS.

    The Grub,

Did you get a chance to try on your 205/60r16 steelies for the upcoming
winter.I was just wondering if they fit at all, because I need to find out for
sure that they will fit before buying a set for my 09 Gts.

They will fit. 16" is the smallest size wheel that will fit on the GTS.

When i went from the stock 16s on my DE it cost me 90 bucks to remove/replace the sensors in my new tires. The tire pressure unit itself if i remember cost 100 bucks each. Sooo if you want to pay 400 just for sensors another 4 bens for tires and im not sure how much for steelies. I would recommend the change over it dont take long either. So i still have 4 steelies with stock tires. But i think ill switch to winter the miss was saying she slipped a far bit in the snow with the stock rubber. The crappy thing ive noticed here in the maritimes you cant but 17 or 18in winter tires from walmart or CT. Oh well ! Oh and our stock 16s will fit the 08 09 GTS. Thats from the mouth of my mitsu service manager.

    Williee the one!!

If I decide just to get 16in steelies w/ snows & do not put on those sensors, that won't mess up the car will it. Also, will the alarm stay on for
any length of time,or will it shut off after you hit the button & stay off until
you start the car at some other time. How does that alarm actually work

    let me know

you just hold that info button down for about 2 seconds after you start the car and the warning will go until the next time you start up your car

When you installed the 16's you didn't get an ABS light? THe deal told me that not only does he believe that they wont fint but also that the rims will throw off the ABS and spedometer. But if you figure it out the 18's are a bigger rim with a much smaller tire, the 16's are a smaller rim with a much larger tire so in the end it shouldn't really throw the speed off.
