battery suggestions

    so, I have 2 12 inch jl audio woofers powered by kenwood 600 watt amp, also a400 watt amp for mids and highs , also hooked up is a 1.2 farat capacitor. My lights still dim at night when the bass hits. I also still have the stock battery, can anyone tell me which replacement battery to get, and price, I can spend around $150.00 on a new battery.

    Geez man, I'm running a very similar setup (power-wise) and my lights never even hinted at dimming...even before I added the cap. I'm no expert. But, from what I've gathered it may not be as simple as replacing the battery. However, take a look at the stock battery. Find the CCA # (Cold Cranking Amps). Look for something with more capacity than your current battery. There are also batteries designed specifically for the demands of car audio. XStatic is one such brand....

    I use to work for Interstate Batteries and I've had a lot of luck with the optima batteries. I’ve used them in all of my cars. The yellow top batter works great with big sound systems. Here is a link for the yellow top optima. It will explain who it works.

    optima yellow top is a very good choice for replacement battery
    also to keep lights from dimming i always used @ least a
    1 farad capacitor (digital) installed near the sub amps this is like a extended battery your sub amp will draw from this before it even draws anything from your main battery reducing the chance of dimming your light and making your main battery last longer

    ok, now i have to decide, yellow top or red top? anyone

    when i did a search by vehicle this is what i came up with, seems to me that red top has better crank amps than yellow top, but everyone is suggesting yellow top? anyone can help would be appreciated

    I say yellow top. The yellow top deep cycle allow you to charge it up longer and drain your battery deeper, with out killing the battery.
