I have an oppurtunity to buy a 04 Dodge Stratus RT, would u really count that as a mitsubishi seeing the engine and transmission are mitsubishi? Just wanting your thoughts and opinions. Oh and It will cost me $6k and have less than 50,000 miles on it. Serviced regularly and in excellent condition (buying it from my father).
Lol what does diamonds have to do with the fact that it has a mitsubishi engine and transmission in it?
it looks like a dodge, smells like a dodge. so its a dodge. Honduh uses belts made from mitsubishi, so does that honduh become a mitsubishi? If you can get a good deal, go for it
Yet again it has nothing to do with belts, It has a MITSTUBISHI engine and transmission. I think its crazy to judge something that has the engine and transmission stock of a company which this forum is based off of.
Just giving you an example...Actually the caliber is based of the lancer, not the stratus. What kind of badges are on the outside of the stratus? Plus, I never heard of a mitsubishi stratus. I maybe wrong but I think its made by dodge.
Wow yet again a person who can't see the fact that the engine and transmission is built and made by mitsubishi. Literally think about the fact that this has a mitsubishi motor and transmission in it before you make a post about some stupid badge. It really seems like everyone is being small minded
Believe what you believe, if you think since it has a mitsu engine and tranny, then believe its a mitsu. Because you asked for "OPINIONS ABOUT IT" why would you call someone small minded? And because you asked an opinion dont judge with someone who does not agree with you. In case you dont know, the same v6 in the stratus is considered the "world" engine. Not only does is that v6 found in the dodge but in the Hyundai as well. So does that make the Hyundai a Mitsu as well, according to what you are saying? I gave you an OPINION, like you asked.
My 02 Eclipse shared the EXACT same interior as a Dodge Stratus. Doesn't imply it's a Mitsu at all. Just means somewhere somehow, some car companies cut-down on price by designing engines, chassis', and interiors that will eventually be shared with others brands. I sat in my buddies Stratus one time and i was like -----> 8O
But yet if that engine was located in the crappiest form of a mitsu it could be a mitsu, going with your logic. You are basing things off a label, a badge. Not based off of what the car is mostly made out of. I just think its a crock to rate something based off a badge rather then what the car can do and what it is made out of.
if the engine is put in a crappy mitsu, like you said, its a mitsu. Unfortunately, that is how a lot of people see things, by its label. People like dodges bcuz the always had dodges and go buy the name. Regardless if its a mitsu engine and tranny, they will buy it bcuz there is a ram on the hood thats says dodge. People buy mercedes, bmws, chevys, nike, timberland, coach, bebe, gap, sony, panasonic, canon,...bcuz of the name.
Well unlike most people, i don't buy something because of its label or badge, I look more to what it has to offer.
Yeah well that car will be a mitsu no matter what everyone says, because this topic started on if you think its a good deal or not
If thats what you believe, then I really dont see a problem, but you asked for an opinion. To me, it has a dodge badge on it, whether it has a mitsu engine, mercedes leather seats or a chevy exhaust. The badge is what represents the vehicle. Would you consider the neon srt-4 a mitsu? same engine, turbo and tranny? Even though the all the insignias in the engine says mopar.
I wouldnt call everyone jerks here, besides, I am the only one who responded and gave my opinion. Whether you agree or disagree, thats reality. 1. Go back to school and learn grammar. 2. God has already forgiven me. 3. It takes a lot more than one thread for me to be a jerk. 4. We are all grown ups here.
