So I'm about to get a lancer, and when I test drove it, I noticed a lack of power in the bottom end. I am coming from a V8 truck though...

What is the best mod for this? It seems like lightweight pulley and SRI/CAI?

    best mod is headers.

    hands down.

It would be just about as much as the pulley and intake's you brought up.

All three parts combined are nice but if you just wanna know which part is the bottom end killer, it's the headers. Barely audibly louder from stock. just barely

SRI and pulley...CAI gives more on the high end

even with these two, there's still the bog we experience from mashing the gas @ a very low rpm.

I love those parts too, but the headers bring the power up a whole new level

Any suggestions on a brand for headers?

Edit: My lancer is going to be a CVT, and I'm in cali so I have PZEV

I just read on the RRM website that the headers can cause CEL? But you can fix it by spending $90 more lol

The SRI from RRM helped alot. I am ordering the V2 Pulley next week from RRM also and that will do even more :)

I thought the V2 pulley was only to solve mitsu's problem with wearing out the seal, not more performance. Am I wrong about this?

Well. Use some logic. If the pulley is light-weight compared to stock how could you NOT assume it's for performance? The new design is stronger in grade than our 4b11 had in the 08. If you compared the RRM Pulley of the 08 compared to the RRM Pulley of the 09' then i'd say you probably wouldn't notice too much of a power difference. But from stock it's still a better performing modification then the stock piece.
This is taken directly from Road Race.
"It is made of aircraft grade aluminum and weighs just 1 lb. Hardened steel sleeve around pulley hub assures long life. Stock pulley weighs more than 4 lbs. and robs h.p. from the engine "

I've said it time and time again, the tone is not for everyone. That's about all i can say about it. The exhaust sounded fine on it's own but once i threw the headers on, it got loud and annoying. But the headers produced more power then the exhaust did so i ditched the exhaust.
If anything, you can always get a resonator or silencer if the tone isn't to your liking. 8)

Also considering new 09 GTS. Can anyone answer if Headers, RRM Pulley, SRI/CAI would void warranty?

Prefer Evo X, but after years with clean driving record, not sure it is the safest bet. Would be damn fun though.

"void warrenty" subject has been discussed numerous times on these forums... simple search would of gotten u the answer

they can only void the warranty if they can prove that it was the part u installed that caused the damage... if ur car hydrolocks cuz u installed a CAI, ur warranty is void, if ur transmission dies and u have a CAI installed... they can't blame it on the CAI therefor they must honor the warranty...

I have searched for warranty and understand that if the aftermarket item could be related to the reason for service, there would be no question as to voiding the warranty. It is easy to swap CAI back to OEM parts before taking in to shop. Headers are my main concern since they are a major undertaking to swap out.

I appoligize and should clarify my question:
Are there any known issues that have been blamed on aftermarket headers by a dealer to keep an eye out for to prevent giving the dealer reason to void the warranty and prevent my weekend being spent swapping back to the original header?

    Thanks for the info.
