well everytime i hit a bump i feel like that my right rear tire is flopping all over the place.i took it out and saw that theres a shit ton of grease all over the strut itself,i looked at my driver side and it was dry.could i have a busted strut?i have the tein springs on my car as well.what should i tell the dealer?
yes thats what happened, one of your struts gave out, i would take it to the dealer and have them replace it. on the other hand i hope you are not lowered, since that will void your warranty for suspension. If you are not, you have nothing to worry about, but also i would look into getting the megan racing coilovers or KYB GR2 replacement struts, which are about 30% better than stock
i'm just hoping u have ur stock springs still... just add them then take it to the dealership, w/e u do, DO NOT bring it in w/ ur tiens on or u can say bye bye to ur suspension's warrenty... let us know how it goes btw, this is y u don't put on stuff on ur car that don't belong on ur car... those tien lowering springs aren't made specifically for the '08 lancers... and also as mentioned above... u usually wanna buy coilovers if ur gonna get lowering springs... cuz of what happened to u is basically what happens when u don't :-\
with lowering spring it would you would bottom out after 2-3 years depending on how u drive.. but ive always been against the tein snice they werent made for our cars... soo i guess thats what happens... coilovers ftw!! anyway you should put back ur sotck spring and bring it to the dealer and say... "i dun know what happenned... i think my shock gave in even though i drive normally" thats ur best bet and dont let them know u HAD aftermarket springs on
how long have you had your tein springs on..im just wondering cause i just ordered a set for my 08...you think it if i get an aftermarket strut bar i'd be fine...
my car been lowered with RRM v2s,ebay coilsprings,now with tein.but its been about 6 months but i highly doubt the coilsprings did it cuz they didnt lower my car no more than the V2s did.does anyone know how much itd cost for a new one?teins lowered my front more than the v2s,but stayed the same in the rear.i really hate to put the stock springs back on cuz ive taken these out so many times...just for the gas to get there i think im gonna find a replacement,since the nearest dealer is more than an hour and a half away.
soo honestly would u even reccomend gettin teins springs at all? like i dont wanna be rollin with a blown strut assembly 6 months down the road ya kno...unless your sure that it wasn't cause by the tein springs..
well i got them,so did alot of everyone else did.its up to you to decide.it mustve been a bad one since its the only one that did.
well i called the dealer in OHIO,and a rear strut for the ES manual cost $122.i hope i can find a better set of struts soon.
