    im thinking of cutting off some of the pipe where the filter goes to give it more clearance too in that area.

    gotcha...sawzall was my plan :twisted: haha just wanted to make sure it would work...but if all else fails...hacksaw always comes through!!

    Hmmm! Ok Lancered now u know I got noth'n but luv for ya so dont take any of this the wrong way. I give you much props on finding other alternatives.

    However, why go through all that work just to achieve nearly the same thing as you would out of a SRI made for our cars?

    Dont get me wrong dawg it looks absolutely awesome, but other than that... and people please dont dare mention anything about warranty let a lone passing visual inspection when you smog it.

    Well good luck to ya. Still looks godd and the vids are cool.

    well even though the question wasnt directed to me..i plan to make this mod soon as i said above...and i wanna do it just cuz like you said its going to do the same thing as one made for our car...but its over 100 dollars cheaper...if you ask me, thats worth a little work to make it happen...just my opinion though..lancered may agree or may not.

    i did it because right around the time people was talking about the intake fitting on our cars,i was curious ans went looking on ebay to see how much it costs to get one of them mazda intakes.i was lucky to find someone was selling theres for pretty damn cheap id say,it was only $24. :) so i got to thinkin should i do this or not,if it didnt work im out only 24$ if it does work,hell go for it,its about the same design as any other SRI,so i took the chance.just reading on how to make this work i had the proper SUPPLIES to do it so i did and it worked and im quite happy with the finish,later ill prolly get that really really nice injen intake,but right now i didnt have that kind if cash to throw out as i had gotten laid off from work as i have to worry more about the bills.especially the lancer payment geez. oh and whats smogging the car,is that an emision test???

    i agree with you man,iit is worth a little work.only if its done right,well or at least tried to. i appreciate everyones opinion. its always good to hear the facts about what your doing.thanks you for your input KRU i though id never see you post on my thread,lol :D :cry:

    thanks KRU im hanging in there its just soooo hard to keep the urge inside of me to buy all these wonderful performance parts and stuff but im on a budget and i gotta keep it that way..till i get called back.i sit at home all day long reading on this forum drooling at all the parts for our cars.lol.but i keep in mind i have to keep my car to get the stuff i want

    yea man i was lucky finding my intake it was worth it,im gonna trim mine up a bit to make it a little prettier to the eye.mine looks like it was thron on there in 30 minutes you know,lol

    i just talked to the guy on ebay and finally got a tracking number and it wount be here till friday! :twisted: im not very happy lol...and i like the vids but do you think you could do one under the hood? to get the full sound of it instead of just in the cab of the car..
